Re: Post Your Side Molding Delete Pics!
sorry no pics but gotta ask isnt your car a dd or am i thinking of someone else? if it is a DD i highly reccomend keeping them on even if you park miles away because sometimes you just dont think and swing those doors open and are hell glad you have them and sometimes you gotta hit stuff like if you have a small garage to get the hell out of the car.

just an suggestion it really is nice to have at times EXEPECIALLY if you got mint paint/body. I do agree it does look better without them though. and btw there's a few in your sig.

Re: Post Your Side Molding Delete Pics!
I hated the pre-88 (or maybe 89) moldings, but I really wish the p/o had left the factory moldings on my 91 Z28. I thought the later moldings looked good, and actually added to the mid-body line on the cars...
Anyone want to sell me their 88-92 moldings???

Those moldings are not very good. If someone opens their door and hits your car you are still screwed because it will still ding the door. It pretty much only protects the paint..

I vote to rip them off, the car looks so much cleaner without them. They didnt stop a car from giving me a nice door ding and I plan to toss um when i repaint the car.

I really dont think you guys understand that there not just for a cars door flinging at you, they really are nice if you are stuck in a tight place say an garage or if you accidently fling the door to far out.

Re: Post Your Side Molding Delete Pics!
The little strip may help the door from smacking into a flat surface like a wall, but if you're just flinging your car door open in tight spots, you deserve a door ding.

Re: Post Your Side Molding Delete Pics!
some people have small garages though so you just gotta sometimes "tap" stuff with the molding to get out.

Re: Post Your Side Molding Delete Pics!
Tapping with or without the molding wont cause dings. At worst you might get a small scuff. But that depends on your definition of just tapping.

I know this is not the part that we are discussing but thought I would share this with you.
This is something I put on my car over 2 years ago and has saved the edge of my door/paint many times. I bought mine at Auto Zone and comes in different colors .I had mine painted when I painted the car .Perfect for a daily driver like mine. You can hardly see them in the top photos so I took some more . There down the thread a little.

On both my 92 & the wife's 90, we had them removed at paint job time:
And if your paint is good & not real old? You can remove them without having a nice stripe of paint left behind. That is how I did my 97 Tahoe right after I bought it, in '99:
