T-Tops
Ive been thinking alot about what to do with the t-tops on my 92. Ive seen on some show about restoring but wasnt paying that much attention. Id like to restore the smoked glass look but Im not sure if its possible, a pain in the ****, or whatever. Anyone have any ideas? Should I try to restore... is it worth the work.... what works ect... or should I just paint them....but I dont want to regret painting if theres practical hope.

I think I would just buy a nice set of glass ones on ebay or from your local jy. Those look hammered.

If they're lexan. You can probably sand most/all of that smooth, but as mentioned.May be A LOT less work to just get a clean set somewhere.

Montbade.... they seem to be glass but Im not really sure. I didnt have much luck on ebay last time I needed some. I had to get some for my 88 and that was a royal pain. Even if they are glass.....they seem pretty shot yeah? Maybe I'll just paint'em and keep my eyes out for some good ones. Thanks for all the input. Thats one of the true reasons our 3rd gen community is the best. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Well, I just spent 20+ hours sanding and polishing mine (they're lexan/poly) and it was an utter waste of time, just made the really deep crazing stand out more. You've probably got the right idea with painting them until you find a clean set, best of luck!

Re: T-Tops
I had some lexan ones that looked like garbage so I chucked em and bought some glass ones. So much nicer. Save whatever good parts you can get off the old ones.
