BEST ENGINE CLEANER
What is everyone's favorite engine cleaner/degreaser. My engine is pretty dirty and looks even worse with my new open air element. Also, can a surface rusted water pump be polished and if so how much???Thanx

I get the stuff made by "Gunk". You can get it from Wal-Mart for under $2 a can. You may have to use a brush on the really greasy areas.

Castrol Super Clean works real good. Just don't get it on painted surfaces that you want to keep. It even pulls nicotine off the windows a lot better than even auto type glass cleaner does. Make sure you dillute it down.

Are all these products a "wash off with water" type cleaner. Those make me nervous cuz i always think i'm gonna screw something up. But i can deal with that. Also any comments on the water pump??? Thanx

what about the water pump? No removal necessary.
I just cover the distributer and coil with a plastic bag, spray the cleaner all over, let it sit, then hose it off with a broad dispursion pattern so that I don't jet any water into the weatherpack connections.
