camaro hood insulation

Maybe this place can tell me if a firebird hood insulation will work on a 89 iroc.Mine is damaged and hawks only carries new ones for firebirds

O.K. i don't know the answer to your question . what i do know is that the insulation was installed to supress engine noise , not heat . i have thrown it away on all my 3rd. gens. . if i have an engine noise i want to hear it right away before any damage happens . just my thoughts . good luck .

thats great to hear,I always thought it was to protect the paint from geting to hot and so on.I can handle the sound,turn up the radio!It will make the engine compartment look cleaner.It's damaged preaty bad.Thanks uncle tom

i agree that hearing a bad engine noise sooner than later is good, but i think it does look a lot neater under the hood with the insulation. try rickscamaros.com for some of the odds and ends like that
