rumour has been since this coupes conception that in the next incarnation it will be the new f body ..just have to wait and see though

That's a aussie company. They do styling and such for GM down there, under the name Holden. I doubt that'll be the next camaro.

I think if they go more towards those lines with a bit of retro they could have a winner. They need something that is designed more like the Mustang(I hate saying that). They have to be able to sell it to the general public as a stripped down V6 sporty looking beater. If they can do they they can sell more and the more they sell, the bigger the after market is. Look how well the Mustang sells! They don't sell many 4.6's now. They are mostly V6 wannabe's.

I think they have to start from the ground up and rethink where they want to go with it. It definitely needs tryes duals!!!

This is just my view, it might be off but that is what I think.

Well, I sure hope that's not the styling of the next Camaro. Looks like a Sebring (GM must love Chrysler... the new Camaros bear a resemblance to the front end of a Concorde and the back end of a Sebring convertible. My dad always mistakes the plentiful Sebrings for Camaros -- they sure do look similar).

Just my $0.02, though.

well it is a nice car , and I have been saying that the next camaro /f-body will be based on the catera / holdem platform , it will probaly look nothing like the holden , but it will share the same platform , thats how gm can keep the cost down on tha car especially if they keep the catera , you 'll have three cars off one platform that is if they bring back the firebird which i truly hope they do.

 

hey that looks like a newer monty. but anyway i heard just heard that when the camaro does come back its goin to look like the first gen but wider. also it will have base engine a v6 and option ls1 v8. and u can get it from a regular camaro to a rs to a rs/ss and the rs/ss is the v8 pakeage deal. i just hope its fast and looks sweet.

also i am sure it is goin to look like a first gen and not a mix or a replacement like that holden or monaro. i cant wait till it comes out though.

 

I also heard that if the camaro comes back it will be a retro first gen look a like. I think anything other than what the camaro looks like now is for the better. the new ones are ugly and look like every other car. Its too bad but the Mustang looks sportier than the camaro does now.
Just my opinion though.

By the way, does anybody know what color that Monaro is in the top pic. Its cool.

Well that car is basically a 2 door version of a 4 door family car over here in Aus called the Commodore. They come with LS1's and supercharged Buick 3.8ltr 6's over here.
It wasnt built to replace anything, it started off just as a concept, was at a car show, the fans loved it.. they decided to put it into production.

 

Looks like a suped up Cavalier to me.

GM has lost it's 'mind' anyways,,,

While that might be a nice car (pic'd at the top of this post) it looks like someone whackes the back end off a sunfire,, tied it into a sunfires mis section & slapped a dodge avenger nose on it.

I for one & glad GM is putting the F body to rest (more like out of it's misery). I'd much rather see the F body go out salvaging the most nobility as it can from pathetic design.

Even if GM made a sorry effort to revamp the camaro or firebird,, it would be lame at best,, even if retro. GM had pissed away all it's funding into making a soon dying breed of truck/SUV market to keep them afloat. Once the glory & glamor of trucks/SUV's dissappear,, what have they left? A pathetic line of revamped names from yesteryear ? Wow,,, what a good job they did bringing bach the Monte & Impala (not). GM has marketed themselves out of the running with too many of the same crap cars under different division names.

Weather or not the cam/bird comes back or not,,, who really cares ?? The 3rd gens are already made which is the whole point of this board,,, 3rdgen F-body cars,,, the only moment in time GM designers took their heads out of their posteriors to make a real body style since the late 60s early 70s.

Just my opinon,, I don't care if it's right or not.

I recently read the Monaro may be imported to the US, within a couple years. It first has to be reconfigured to pass US crash laws, one of the things was to move the gas tank from it's current position.
