Don't laugh, and this probably goes under the "ghetto thread", but I used a wide roll of painter's blue tape to tape the fenders behind the wheels (fear of rock chips) and the front air dam. The paint was still less than 6 months old and I wanted to keep it fresh. I don't care what other motorists thought of it, but I kept the chips out of my paint.
