My shop is still a work in progress. Hoping to put a 16x16 roll up door on it with my tax money. About to finish up running the electric and will start insulating. I have some rusted tin I have been collecting to use as paneling inside. As for now the Camaro is sitting in a bay of our hay barn.

My Camaro is squeezed between tires, garbage, recycling boxes and... my z06! No room to work at all. The Zo6 is going to spend next summer outside so I can modify that tpi engine.

Re: Pics of your Garage set ups for your thirdgens!!!
I've been waiting awhile to post in this thread. Finally have a detached, two car garage to work on my car. When I started, the garage was very basic. No insulation on the inside, old wiring, two old shop lights and a concrete floor that was cracked with major pitting. Starting in June, I ran new conduit from the house, installed all new wiring, extra outlets, and 4 very bright dual T-8 fluorescent shop lights. Insulated the walls and rafters. Put 1/2" OSB around walls and painted with two coats oil based primer and two coats of finish paint. Applied skim coats of leveling concrete on floor in two stages (about 650 lbs concrete total). Finished it off with concrete sealer and 3 coats concrete floor paint. Also built a wood work bench along the back wall. Took about 5 months and I had a lot of help from my dad and cousin. It didn't think it would take so long but things add up. I now have a 20 gallon air compressor, 30,000 btu propane heater and plenty of room! Will be a busy winter in there stripping down the car.

Here's a side shot of the two car garage at the place my fiance and I were living at until life hit and we had to move somewhere cheaper. This was taken while I was changing the oil and rotating tires. Had a 305 sitting in that corner for awhile. Got lots and lots of work done in there, loved it. Be thankful if you have a place to work on your car, some of us can't get anything done at all

Re: Pics of your Garage set ups for your thirdgens!!!
This is my detached garage I build a few years ago. Inside is my black 87 IROC (which I'm just finishing up), my blue 87 IROC project (still deciding what I want to do), my 50 Studebaker Champion (getting there), and my 02 Z06.

you'd be glad you did, such a relief parking inside knowing your car is safe from people to the elements, you can work on it when ever like rain, snow, ect. And it's really nice in the winter when you can heat the garage and work or you can build an engine at your leasier

I remember the days when I used a kerosene fired salamander, but the heat was localized to only a few feet and the fumes would get pretty intense after awile.

Re: Pics of your Garage set ups for your thirdgens!!!
the salamander iv got is propain ran and it heats the garage up very nice, i normally put it near my garage doors and let it blow towards the back of the garage where i normally work and it will normally get too hot after about an hour, so i shut it off and turn on my kerosene heater and put it near the center of the garage and it heats very well. i can normally wear just a shift after about 30 minutes. i use to run just 2 electric heaters before i got these. BIG difference!!! normally though if im not in the garage and iv got snow or ice on my car ill turn the electric heaters on and let them warm it up enough to melt the ice and snow. but iv never had a problem with a smell, every once in awhile after my kerosene runs out of fuel ill get the smoke from it so ill leave the garage and let it run for a while with the door cracked and my exhaust fan on in the ceiling.

It's not anymore wife's car and 55 bel air in there now with more "stuff" arriving daily. Lol
Re: Pics of your Garage set ups for your thirdgens!!!
HA... That picture was taken the day I picked up the blue IROC. It had a blown motor and we towed it about 50 miles. It had snowed hard the night before and the roads were covered in salt. So all that white you see on the blue car is salt spray from being towed behind the Yukon

I guess she was trying to tell me something......
