I think in my ideal garage I'd have my thirdgen parked next to a GN. I wish...
Back in the day when my car was stock and my truck hadn't disintegrated (long story but it's had some back luck in recent years)

Puuhleeaz, don't disgrace the poor old thing, these things should be standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow sportscars, something with power and class!
(And no, those "pimped out" SS's driven by that douchebag from highschool don't count)
Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
Here I was, thinking this thread was about what kind of respectable cars have given you compliments on your ride, lol.
Thirdgen, as seen many times before:

Current DD waiting for me when I get home (old man verified it's flawless and not just the pictures), '98 GT from my sig (pics from the classified ad, steering wheel cover was tossed [wasn't hiding anything] and got some nice Lloyd's Mustang logo floor mats). I remember when I was 16-17 back around '99/'00, I'd go to the Ford dealers and absolutely drool over these '96-'98 GTs that would come in freshly traded on the lot when they were only a couple years old. I always stared at the red or black ones with black interiors and the 17" wheels. I told myself I should stick with something '08+ when I get back to the States to minimize problems etc, but a lack of better judgment got the best of me when I saw this one pop up a couple months ago, and I had to have it, plus the wife will need a car when we get home so she will get the newer car to begin with so this was fairly cheap so i guess it's a win-win, as long as it isn't the mechanical pile my E36 used to be:

My last two cars here in Japan, both new, metallic black 2008 and metallic blue 2009 Daihatsu Mira Custom X. Great little cars, 660cc (yes, 0.6L) 58 hp cars. They scoot a lot better than you'd think, because they weigh nothing, plenty comfortable, practical, spacious despite their tiny size (90 degree doors), 60 mpg, and dead reliable (no, I don't live in the dump in the background, that was appointed subsidized housing as part of my employment package I very quickly opted out of):

(Picture limit)

Blue 2009 that I had, a few exterior changes--stub antenna up top, different wheels, sidemarkers moved to the side mirrors. Had a fancier gauge cluster inside, too:

EDIT: What the hell, while I'm showing you quirky cars owned while my thirdgen is in storage, here are a few photos of the wife's car (not her actual one), an '03 Daihatsu Copen (retractable hardtop). Hers is steel blue, another 660cc car; fun little cars to tool around in, very small:

Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
Well that was fairly rude, despite how much I hate those old Chevy pickups.
A guy across the street from me high idles his 90's Chevy pickup for literally 20-30 minutes almost every day, even when it's like 60 degrees. He doesn't stop until it's summer, and hits at least 70 degrees. I guess he's not aware that warming an engine for anymore than a minute or two is rather useless, unless you just want heat, even then 10 minutes max.
Funniest part is that to achieve his little high idle, he puts something up against the gas pedal, so it runs a constant 1,500+ RPM I'd say. I think he wants to be like a Cummins. Sooner or later he'll figure out a way to cut off 4 cylinders, to attempt to replicate their 3 cylinder high idle.

i think the non f body that best compliments my f body is probably a nice shapely female, but since none of them are around at the moment, i guess i have to say my 72 honda cb cafe racer, they have alot in common, like being underpowered and aspiring not to be lol, but i like what i have planned for both of them definitely going for the retro look modern performance and lots of carbon fibre accents, as well as a nice deep black for both of them and some custom-ish wheels to set it off really nice, you know its the details that count, the little pain in the a$$ details

And i didnt think i had a picture of the two of them together lol. here is a pic of my k10 when i had the swampers on it and the trans am when i ha it on all four wheels. ill throw in a pic of the DD to since if i had to id keep it over the others. the bad thing is both my k10 and my yukon would run circles around my thirdgen back when it was still together lg4/700r4/2.73=worst combo

chevys guys stick with chevys pontiac guys stick with pontiacs, and it seems like your v6 guys seem to have a broad range of vehicles, but oldies are goodies, american is american. sorry to seem stereotypical but thats how im looking at it a little. anyways its really not funny how well a chevy truck beat up or not goes with a thirdgen. sorta reminds me of that chevy commercial where there is the guy with his obs and it has different hood and fenders, dents and rust everywhere but its still going strong. anyone remember that commercial?

This is me and a buddy of mine in Birmingham on Power Tour Last year. Truck is hilarious. We have a decent running LSX in it. Suprises everyone at the stoplights.

Here are my two rides cosy in the shop for the winter. My dad handed down the vette we spent 7 years on it. He was going to sell it!, wacko!

Yeah those blocky 80s Mustangs really had nowhere near as much style as our thirdgens had... unfortunately they didnt have nearly as much weight to them either.

Well, I didn't see anybody else that had one, so I'll throw in a pic or two of mine.

It's a 1990 GMC Suburban with 280,000 original miles. The other Midshipmen nicknamed it the GMC "Super Sport" Suburban. It's got a GM 350 Crate Motor which I added an Edelbrock Intake, Quadrajet non-CC Carb, Pertronex HEI Ignition, Full-Tube Headers, and a True-dual 2 1/4" exhaust with Dynomax Super-Turbo Mufflers. It's also got 1-ton Springs all the way around with a completely rebuilt front suspension and braking system, an Air-Lift 5000 rear load adjusting system, a factory towing package with a 3.73 positraction rear-end, a Hayden RV Transmission Cooler, B&M RV Shift Kit, B&M Traveler Torque Converter, and a B&M Torque Converter Lock-Up Controller.
I like to think of it as my go anywhere, do anything, and don't need a motel room when you get there vehicle.
Oh, and it's not exactly my daily driver, but how could I forget my other vehicle?

It's a 1972 Sidewinder Lo-Pro Jet Boat with a 350 Oldsmobile out of a '71 Cutlass in it. She's a work in progress.
Guess you could say I'm a GM man through and through, eh?

Thanks man, I've put a lot of hard work and time into it. Nothing quite like a good blast up and down the river to cure the stress of a long week.

Umm off the top of my head, full suspension with koni yellows, and every bushing poly, stage 3 ie springs, m50 dual cam swap with headers and fan delete. euro grills, m3 rack and pinion. some other small things its just a blast to drive for a daily it has a 3:73 lsd so its very fun and stiff through corners, great car I love it and still get 25 mpg would be better if I changed the gears.

No never been to the track with it yet but if I did go it would be for a road course. Yeah the roads arnt any good around here my exhaust drags alot, and you feel every bit of the road every bump and crack. some you hit and the car is so hard it ends up hurting me.
