Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
Hell yeah man, it makes me happy to see so many New Edge Mustangs on an F body site.
My daily driver is a T56 6 speed swapped '01 GT, has a Vortech V1 S-trim waiting to go on it, 3.73s, SCT Livewire, currently BBK offroad X pipe and Flows. This Sunday I have Borla Stingers and a Magnaflow catted X going on. Also lowered on Eibachs, black 18" FR500s, spoilerless.
If I pick up another daily driver sometime soon, I'm probably going to go crazy and trade in my V1 S-trim towards a V7-YSI, and save for an MMR shortblock.

Also a Steeda Tri Ax on top of the T56, and an 03-04 Cobra aluminum driveshaft in back of it.

Can't wait to get this setup on. It'll be quieter than I'm used to, but it'll make it all that much better when I throw on Stainless Works longtubes and their shorty offroad X.

Redlines ET and trap in the bottom 13's about 105mph.
Its the same motor as the 2008+ Cobalt SS, Saturn Ion Redline, and Solstice GXP. Those are scary cars for even the fastest factory L98s to meet at a red light.

driving the sky is quite the experience especilly for a stock car. Why pick up a c5 corvette when all of america drives them..the sky is something different and uncommon. I could make a thread for My dad's camaro but is that allowed since it's strickly third gen's?

Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
thanks! i got some new gm replacements and cut a coil and a half on the front and the rear 1 coil. and i also replaced the stock rubber coil booster with new ones.. drives and handles great. no bouncy front end or anything. also, when i cut my springs i put them in a bucket of water and only left the part that was gonna be cut off pointing out of the water to not get as much heat thru the rest of the spring.

Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
Heres my 84 prior to getting its first heart transplant (the LG4/L69 build from an 87 Caprice) in the garage, my brother's 86 MR2, and 86 Fiero GT behind it in the other garage. For those who are wondering, stock for stock, the TA out ran and handled with if not out handled the other two. But my bro put in a 3800SC in the Fiero and admittedly its quicker, but handling was still a toss up especially with the broken parts on mine. But when done, its gonna be no contest. The TA will out run and out handle both.

Re: best non fbody that compliments your thirdgen
That occurred prior to us getting it LOL. The air dam is missing, so it gets light in the front at 65+ and that damage on the corner was done by the PO who had an incident with a pole or high curb or something in a parking lot. But considering we got it for 325 bucks over 5 years ago and three different drivers drove the hell out of it since we got it, (Dad, my bro and myself) and it has 325,000 miles on it we couldn't care less. It still runs but the front brakes seized the last time I had it out, and are stuck clamped, and it has an oil leak that we can't seem to find despite it leaking like mad. It was fun to drive though. The Fiero is another story as its a four speed stick that I can't even find the right gears in the trans....POS. All three cars are factory manuals. MR2 is a five speed, the TA was also a 5 speed that has since been swapped for a T56 with the T5 being traded for the wheels I'm putting on it.

Sure, there is no beating the F-body for style and appeal, but sometimes man, you need some ROOM and the ability to carry the entire family, groceries, 4 sets of golf clubs, 3 dozen circus midgets, whatever... Here is my '96 Impala SS. About as different visually from the 3rd gens as you can get, but underneath, the DNA isn't far apart.

And here is her older 'SS' cousin:
