side markers, blacked out?

i have a teal 92 z, it is dark tinted and has tail light black outs. does anyone think i should make the side markers white instead of blacking them out?

what is the process of making the sidemarkers black?

i think they would look cool blacked out, i was thinking about doing that myself. as far as how to do it, i would say take them off, cover them with 5% limo tint, and put them back on. i don't know how well the tint strips hold up in bad weather conditions, but i'm sure there's gotta be some way to secure the tint onto the markers

A can of VHT NIteshade's Spray w/ 3+ coats does the trick. I've done the front parking lights on both my birds and am extremely pleased w/ the results. I plan to do only my 'yellow' side markers as i'll be going for a black w/ red light theme but i think it'd work on them too

Diabolical, I have all my parking lights blacked out with 5% limo tint. Its the stuff you buy from the local Autozone, not 3M or anything. They have been on almost a year, through 2 texas summers as well as the snow and ice we got last winter. At one point, they had about 1/4" of ice over them, and they are still on fine. Just make sure the lens is very clean when you put the tint on.

I blacked out my tail lights, parking lights and side marker lights using VHT Nightshades spray on tint. Just work slowly and apply real light coats with this stuff.

You can see pics of my car, I have a 1992 Teal green Z28 with HVT black out spray on my rear lights, side marker lights and front turn signal lights. Every light on my car, except my headlights is blacked out. I love it! Just mask them off and spray, took me about 10 mins. See sig for pics...

I CUSTOM FABED A SET OF CLEAR SIDE MARKERS FOR MY 91 Z. i USED A KNOFE TO CAREFULLY POP OFF THE AMBER PART OFF THE ASSEMBLY. THEN I BOUGHT A SECTION OF THE KITCHEN LIGHT PLASTIC FROM HOME DEPOT AND USED MY DREMIL TO CUT OUT THE SIZE OF THE WHOLE. I MADE A IT A FEW LAYERS THINK TO FILL OUT THE WHOLE AND BE FLUSH WITH THE BODY. I SEALED IT ALL TOGETHER WITH CLEAR SILICONE. IT ALSO MADE THEM WATER PROOF. I PERSONALLY HAVE SUPER WHIE BULBS IN MINE TO GOT WITH THE OTHERS ONMY CAR. THEY LOOK TIGHT WITH ORANGE BULBS IN THEM ALSO. I THINK THE CLEAR REALLY SMOOTHS OUT THE SIDE OF HTE CAR.

I blacked out all of my parking lights, and it looks awesome on a black car. I used really dark window tint film on all the lenses. If you want it to look right, pull the lenses out, clean them, and the only mod you have to do to them is get an exacto knife or something and scrape the letters off, so the film will not 'bubble up' over them. Also, with the darkest tint autozone sells, I still had to use 2 layers to make them totally black. With just 1 layer of film, they still look colored, but tinted.

89Irocn2o, that looks so sweet. Ive been wanting to blackout the front parking lamps and side markers but havent had time to do it. now, after seeing it, Ill make time. Im planning on getting some smoke plexiglass to do the lenses with though, the side ones should be straight forward, but the fronts Ill have to do a little cutting, but I think the overall effect will be pretty awesome. do any of yall have pics of the lights at night? I wanted to know how bright they are now
