Anyone got ideas on how to get overspray off of paint?

Was doing touchup on the windshield surround, i guess newspaper doesnt cover everything >=[ Any ideas? I tried washing it off and some other remedies. I know for sure brake cleaner gets it off of windows but i know that would ruin my paint. Thanks for the help

Depends on how thick of a coat of overspray. I used a clay bar and the lubricating spray your supposed to use on it and rubbed the car down when i painted some stuff and got overspray everywhere.

Re: Anyone got ideas on how to get overspray off of paint?

It is really weird you should ask this question, as I had overspray the other day while painting my door handles with trim black. I tried using 99% alcohol but it didn't remove anything. I then went up to the grocery store and bought a "magic eraser". To my amazement all the overspray was removed with a few wipes!! As if it never existed and there is no damage at all to the paint. I was real careful with the 99% alcohol as I am aware how hard it can be on the paint finish...but damn those little erasers work terrific. I even used them to clean the underside of the hood...looks like new (: Hope this helps.

My brother worked for a car detailing buisness for a while and he also told me that those magic erasers worked well on white cars for taking stuff off like that, even some stuff that clay bars usually only take off. Now im not sure about cars that are not white, but since the magic erasers are white i think thats why they work well on the white cars.

Prep Solve will take it off. If the surface of the vehicle is cleared and the over spray is single stage it will take it right off. Wet sanding it and buffing it should take it right off if the prep solve doesnt work

careful with the magic erasers - they work great, but are more abrasive than you may think. they will pull paint off walls, skin off arms (please don't ask, that was a sore couple days ), most definitely clear coat if you go too deep

if its not a whole lot of over spray, you can always give it a light wetsand with 2000 grit and a quick polish with a good buffer.
