plenum pitting ?

plenum pitting ?

i was wondering how far can i sand down the top of the plenum to remove all the pitting i sanded it all the way to 1500grit and then polished it turned out great but thr pitting is driving me nuts just worried about thr yop of the plenum not matching up with the runners thanks
