bodywork help?

Just looking for general tips and pointers on how to prep a car for paint. Haven't started it yet so don't know my trouble spots or anything really

Step # 1 wash with soap and water. You want to use dish soap because it will take the wax off, no fragrance or gentle hands stuff just plain regular dish soap. Car soap is made to gentle on wax. Make body repairs, aling body panels. Scuff all areas to be painted. Mask all areas off. Spray primer, block sand. Spray sealer, spray even color coat. Spray second color coat followed by two coats clear. Let dry. Wet sand then buff. That was how to do modern base/clear coat system which is what most people use, there are other methods such as single stage systems out there. The anwser is general but so was the question. If you need to know specifics your best bet is to search the forum for them.
