Bodywork suggestions in Wausau
Well, I am well underway on the bodywork part of my repaint project. The chassis is stripped down now to essentially just the suspension remaining ( so I can roll it around still ).
I am still trying to meet people locally here, say in the Central Wisconsin area. Specifically Wausau. I would like to trade ideas and offer possible help too for anybody elses projects. Anybody out there in Wausau?

Yeah, it will definately be alot of work for sure. Luckily, most of the powertrain is rebuilt less then 3000 miles ago, so now I just need the part for looks.
Jake, do you ever go to the races in Kaukauna? I have heard there is a strip over there but I have never been.

Not sure how far KauKauna is from South Milwaukee, but I think it may be kinda far, so no, never been there. I have'nt even had a chance to race my IROC yet. I bought it with a blown motor, put new motor in, drove for 1,300 miles and parked it for the winter, and it is still parked because I'm re-painting the areas where clear cloat is peeling and getting the SShood on. I'll be at the track sometime in MAY.
Only thing that sucks is when I give it a little gas from a stand point, the rear end seems to make a 'clunk' noise. Don't quite know what causes this, but i have never floored my car from a stand point yet beacause I dont feeling like fixing anything else right now.

First thing I would look at is the transmission and torque arm mount. It might just be the torque arm causing the torsional load on those areas and making a noise if the bushings are worn. You could replace them with poly mounts anyways, they are much better.
What track will you go to in May?

Hi 47.. Glad you did chime in. I am happy to meet new people in the area that are fellow thirdgenners. I was considering trying to get a group together if we could work up some more friends in the area. Do you drag race too?
Hey Jake, where is Union Grove? I am assuming it is near Milwaukee. If it is south of you its just too far away for me I guess.

well i would drag race if the camaro ran :P, and if it had a bigger engine maybe too. basiclly i just got an 86 camaro from my uncle, its only got the 2.8L v6 in it, but it hasent been moved or turned on in around 3 years, so today, 4/25/03, my dad and i are gonna change the oil and filter and syphon out the gas that was left in the car and lube the engine up a bit. Im only 16 not to much knowledge of cars at all, i could prolly figure out how to change the oil myself, but i dont know much else, but this is my first project and hopefully my dad will help me out alot and show me stuff. I just want to restore the car and hold on to it for the rest of my life. By the way, mike, how old are you? PM me if you want.
