Long but worth it ... turning a thirdgen into a ***** wannabe

From the way I post this I know it's going to sound like "my friend" is me but I just want to make sure everybody knows I would NEVER do anything like this to my 88 IROC-Z. A friend of mine drives an 84 HO camaro and he is making it look like a civic wannabe. I personally hate some of the mods he wants to do. He has already ordered an aluminum spoiler that was made for sport compacts and is going to sit about 16 inches when its mounted. He has been talking about getting hydrualics (spelling) not just to lower it but so he can make it bounce off the ground. he wants to find 13 inch chrome wheels and some low profile tires with white side walls. He says he found some ground effects to lower it even more, he will bottom out everywhere he goes. He had purple graphic decals put on the side that look like they are straight out of "The fast and The Furious" and has been talking about getting some chinese characerature (spelling) stickers and others for the side. Next thing I know he will roll up with a big "TYPE R on the side. He already has purple neon lights under it, nothing wrong with that but now he wants strobe light head lights and tail lights. Every time he is in his car, civic drivers complement it because of the way it looks and fellow thirdgen owners hate it. I tell him he should have just bought a celica or something of that sort but he loves his camaro. I guess all that matters is that he likes it but wow does it look bad and give thirdgen drivers a bad name with rice drivers. I wish I had some pics of this thing but I think you get the picture. Anybody else out there do anything like this or have some pics? I wanna see what it looks like and know what the heck you were thinking? Could I possibly get some help from someone with photoshop? Thanks, Justin.

If I ever thought of doing something like that, I would hope you guys would come by in the middle of the night, drag me into the street, and kill me.

For a while I was kinda thinking of doing certain "***** stuff" to my Iroc. Some of it could be cool, but it's personal preference.

-Stickers, or decals WRONG

-After market spoiler COOL
(not an aluminum one, but something diff. like a touring spoiler, or cool would be a Kombat GTR spoiler.

-Strobe lights VERY COOL
I've looked into these but they could only fit turn signals and brake lights.

- Altezza Taillights COOL
Though hated by most third genners, I would try a pair, cause hey, they're not as ugly as cheap looking blackouts(unless the whole car is black, then it's cool.

- Lowering the car way DOWN low COOL
just as long as It doesn't bottom out, but no 13 inch rims, at least 16" or more and not white walls either.

-Fart Pipes HELLL NOOO
they are the most ugliest/annoying things produced for the automobile. I have like 3 1/2 inch boom toobs on the Iroc but nothing comes close to a 5" Fart Pipe.

Well these are just my opinions, though i love the third gens, there is a hell of a lot of them around and i'd like to make mine as different as possible, in a good way.

Shoot me some feed back...

Dave

you can go all out with body mods and still not go rice

I like rice...ON RICE, not on american cars...well Acura's yeah, but they dont count as american.

Every last Camaro and Firebird is like that in the... uh... let's say ethnicaly diverse spanish speaking side of town where I live. The only thing your buddy is lacking is chrome trim on the wheel wells and gas tank cover. And for that final touch don't forget the el grande boomerang style phone antenna. Simply stunning.

I do not like posts that disgrace our thirdgens and I feel this post will end up going in that direction.

Thanks for understanding,
Chuck
