Burnout...

Whenever I powerbrake, my tires smell really bad. Why is this? Is there anything I can do to stop this? They are Yokahoma tires. AND...another Q. How many burnouts do you guys do? Every intersection, or barely ever??

well, when u spin out etc. the rubber gets pretty dang hot, and basicaly that smell is just burning rubber. doesn't take much to get them to smell. and i'v only done a major burnout (on purpose) twice, had 1\4 tank of gas, stopped on a small road and hit the gas, didn't even have to touch the brake and i was leaving a trail all the way throught 1st gear, tried it again last night, with a passenger and full tank of gas, and well didn't work.

Man i use to do burn-outs at every stop sign but then i broke my rear and now i haven't even power-braked my new one. Those tires are so expensive, i need the tires to last more then one year.
If u would like to see a cool vid of power brakeing i did with my old rear go here

Aren't the only ways to do a burnout in an auto to do a powerbrake or else just have so much power that you can let the hammer down at a standstill you burnout? Both of which can screw up the tranny?

My iroc is an auto and to spin the tires all u have to do is a hole shot. come to a stop and "put the puddle to the metal".

I don't powerbrake alot but i like to spin the tires. I spin the tires probably 4-5 times every hundred miles. Right now my back tires are pretty bald, so i've been having fun. I don't even need the brake, i just mash the gas and my car will sit there and smoke the tires through 3 gears. I think the 3.90 gears help with that. My daily driver is a oldsmobile cutlass, so whenever i drive the camaro i like to head to the country and make high speed runs and just play around. That's what i made it for.

Closed due to lack of Appearance and Detail technical content.

I have had a lot of problems lately and I am tightening the limits as to what can be on this board.

Please take your non-tech needs to www.nethirdgen.org

Thanks for understanding.
