Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

i just did a quick search on tirerack and didnt find anything for $28. stock z06 is 19x10 up front and 20x12.5 out back.

the wheels that have for stock z06 are over a grand each...

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

found the ones you were talking about, theyre not z06 wheels, theyre c6 wheels made by sport edition. theyre on close out for $29 each...not bad.

according to the specs, they require a 285 tire, which youre not gonna fit that under a stock 3rd gen without major rubbing issues. about the widest you can go up front is a 245, maybe 250.

Yeah I thought he was pulling our leg, but for c6 wheels not bad.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...00&autoModClar=

Also, the sport additions Z06 don't look bad either for $29 each. With shipping to my door it would be $140.

There are people I know of that run 275s up front with the proper offset wheels, but with 9" wide wheels, not 11" wide!

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

doubtful the c6s have enough offset to run a 285 tire upfront.

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

but do you use wheels with a 79mm offset and a 9.09" backspacing? if not then its moot point on what you run.

nobody is saying those wheels with their offset and width will fit in the front. Even with spacers, i don't see an 11" wide wheel fitting in the front without looking silly. I'm just saying that it isn't actually the tire width that would cause the fitment issue incase someone reads this thread and gets the impression that you can't fit a tire wider than 245 under any circumstance.

on stock rims, 245 is about the limit. aftermarket with different offsets and such, yea you can go wider.

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

I only got two se zo6 11s for the bacK. I know i cant run that up front. I was thinking of 18 x 8.5 up front . I have 17x9s on it now w/245s up front an 275s in back. I already have some good 295 30 19 tires

Many of us are running 275s without rubbing issues, even very lowered.

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

Since there is no 275R16 or a stock 17" (except maybe the Firehawk wheels, but what size did those come with?) 3rd gen wheel, no.

But I have seen several people run stock Vette wheels w/adapters & 275s.

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

see, thats the key word, adapters. with a stock wheel, or some wheel generally close to stock offset, youre not gonna fit much larger than that.

Define "stock". As I said already, there is no 275R16 nor were 3rd gens stock with 17s, besides the Firehawk. But that also means that yes, there was a stock 3rd gen with a 275 front tire. Ronal 17x9.5" aluminum wheels equipped with the trademark Firehawk SZ P275/40ZR17 tires. And my aftermarket 17x9 wheels & 275s fit up front with no adapter. Not stock, but also no adapters.

I just didn't want anyone reading your statement of "about the widest you can go up front is a 245, maybe 250.", which is obviously not true.

Got mine. I'll post pics when I get them on. Just the back right now. Then I will order fronts with a different offset later. If I don't like the looks, at the price I can surely make my money back.

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

Okay, I realize I need rubber, just doing measurements and making sure this is the route I want to go. I have a 4th gen 2002 SS Camaro rear end and it does not require spacers for the 4th gen wheels I have or the C6 rims I am comparing.

Give me constructive criticism and not, "oh them is too dang wide" junk. Tell me what you think over all and if I am overlooking something.

Rim comparison

I have a fourth gen rear end and the back of my car is basically the same as a fourth gen. With the 2002 rear end I do NOT need spacers for fourth gen rims. Here are my 2002 SS split spoke rims, 17x9.

Here is the 2009 C6 Z06 19x11 knock offs I bought with a 64mm offset. NO spacer needed.

Distance from the bulge on the body of the wheel well on the C6 rim

Distance from the SS rims

SS rim front looking back

Re: zo6 wheels 19 by 11 pics. please

C6 rims front looking back

C6 rim looking down front the wheel well bulge, only come out a 1/2 inch compared to the SS rims due to the offset

SS rim looking down from wheel well bulge

Everything clears on the bottom

After the tire is on I will probably need to do the big hammer mod, but the rim clears quite well.

315s will drop on almost like factory with only slight BFH modding needed. 335s will work too with only a a little more BFH. Mostly depends on how low you go.

its funny, bought those rims from tire rack and found an even better deal on C6 Z06 rims, BFH'ing today and tomorrow and will post pics. I am going to just sell the TIRERACK rims for what I bought them for when ever I can.

I think those wheels look outstanding on YOUR car! The fact that youve gone with large rotors and upgraded brakes makes a HUGE difference in the overall appearance of the wheel. I think if someone has stock brakes they might not look so good.
