What kind of Firebird is this exactly?

wasn't sure which board to post this on, but since it's mostly about appearance i thought maybe here would work.

but what model Firebird is this 1988 car? trans am, formula, GTA, etc? I'm not sure...but it says it has the upgraded suspension package so I was thinking Trans AM??

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ctd/2653241973.html

*edit - well I been looking at the appearance of different Firebirds and I guess this is a Formula, or a base model??

looks like a base model with some non-stock stuff. Wheels are kind of cool and not to common.....could be a good deal if it is not rusty and motor and trans are in good shape at least where I live. (MN so old rust free thirds are hard to find)

Base model.

Been repainted and they didn't do a great job.

Wheels are some ugly 80's junk.

It's worth about half what they're asking. Maybe worth a thousand if it's straight.

Aren't those mid '80s T/A wheels? Looks a lot like them to me without any colored anoidization. The body looks like it might be a Formula.

Do you mind sharing with us what specific part body made you think that?

Its a base model firebird with a v6, rims are from an early '80's firebird. Body looks to be in good shape, just gotta look at the floor pans for rust since it is a t-top car. Would be a good project or daily driver. 128,000 miles is low i guess for that year car, prolly all freeway miles.

Low miles for age does not equate "very low miles" overall. Also at 5600 miles per year what makes you think it was a freeway car?

Dual tips, c'mon man. You are dealing with someone whose job it is to appraise a car in 60 seconds and then decipher that information to someone else who has to post it on craigslist.

Re: What kind of Firebird is this exactly?

Well here in Hawaii we have bad driving conditions, always stop, alot of hill climbing & go nowhere to really open up. Unless you going on the other side of the island. Any thing over 100,000 miles driven here is way to much. Im not saying anywhere else is better, atleast you guys have open roads to put some real mileage. Here you start your car then your at your destination in like 15-30 mins.
