Three pedal Third Gen appreciation thread (Manual trans...)

Hey everyone!

Lets see those manual third gens... What shifter do you use? What trans? Future mods and upgrades? Was your car originally manual?

TAKE A TURN, GRAB A GEAR!

I'll start...

This is my 83 Camaro Sport Coupe... Original 305/5 speed car. Last year of the non hydraulic clutch.

T5 with straight cut gears for now...

Suspension: SSBC brakes in front, Eibach Sportlines, KYB shocks, Edelbrock rear control arms, UMI subframe connectors (in red), Edelbrock adjustable panhard bar, larger rear sway... Everything undercoated or painted black.

Fresh 355 soon to replaced with a motor I am building for twin turbos from a short block.

LOVE the pro 5.0 shifter

I personally have much more fun with this car than my previous automatic third gens... I will get more pics of my new interior soon, so you can actually tell mine is a manual lol... Let's see em!

my 86.

i converted it to a 5 speed, using a tremec tko600 and a steeda tri-ax shifter.

with a tad over 500 horsepower/tq its a blast to drive, the poor rear tires dont have a chance if you get on it. Too many mods to list really, if it matters they are mostly all in the vBGarage page. Just needs a little more tire on the front.

My 91 Z28... I converted to T56 a few years back. Used Spec Stage 2 clutch, and Hurst Billet plus shifter with MBA "Z28" polished billet ****, and matching MBA polished billet pedal set... rest of the details are in the sig (really tiny LOL)

Mine is converted from an auto to a T56, using a 4th gen Hurst shifter with the leather "H" ****. Too many mods to list. I lose track of everything when I try to remember it all...

My wife remembers that... I remember some but mostly just the big stuff. We are purchasing our first house now and I realize how big of a down payment I'd have if I had left the car stock lol

T56 w/ pro5.0. Maybe tr6060 in the future? I have one in the garage but takes too much to make work in a thirdgen. I've gone through a few handles/boots. Currently running c6 ****. Originally an autotragic.

Ian... What material is your current shifter boot made of? Looks like some sort of kevlar weave stuff. I like it!

Re: Three pedal Third Gen appreciation thread (Manual trans...)

Car was originally a 305tbi/T5, swapped to 355tbi, then i got ahold of it and swapped in an L33 5.3, MN12 6-speed from an 04 GTO. I love this tranny, deeper gears compared to a T56, car pulls hard with the 3.42's out back. First real "test" was against a 12.3 ET 01 RA T/A, he could not pull away from her and i had no traction on wet/moist roads.

Re: Three pedal Third Gen appreciation thread (Manual trans...)

Dropped in a 6 speed when I did carb swap. Also did the gauges at the same time. Trans has cf sycros, steel 3/4 fork and bronze fork pads. Using just a stock replacement zoom clutch from autozone. Anything in between is a waste of time and kills drive-ability unless you get a twin disc.

Current state right now. Have a set of GTA wheels to be refinished this winter and will be doing blitz black paint job on here in the spring. Just rattle can right now.
