My camaro already is not the same stock color it had a crappy silver coat of paint over black and it really looks like crap. Im for sure getting a new paint job i just dont know what color to paint it. Im thinking i will just paint it silver again since few 3rd gen camaros have silver paint , but what do u guys recomend on the paint??

 

i would agree with the silver. i have only seen 2 camaros that were silver, and they looked nice. one of them had a coat of pearl on top, it gave it a very different look when the right light hit it.

I say ...

What ever color the door jams and the under hood compartment are, that you go with that color. Nothing's worse then them not matching up.

I agree with KZad. The shop usually charges more for color change, door jambs and under hood spraying.

 

I say a nice dark metallic blue
or black..those are my two favorite colors on a thirdgen. But silver will look nice too if it's a good paintjob. Get the same color silver that they use on the newer camaro SS' sebring silver metallic..That's a nice color.

My kid has a silver 1981 Z that I absolutely love. However, I'm partial to blue myself. My car went from white to blue back in 91 and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have plenty of pics of f bodies on my web page if you want to get some ideas.

my door jams are silver so that would match. I dont like black cars because they are harder to keep clean. I am going to put a cowl induction hood on my car before i get it painted and my idea was to paint it a semi-dark metallic blue with silver racing stripes going through the cowl hood!! How about that??

 

yea go for it!!!! thats a sweet idea!! actually i was gonna recommend that idea to you cuz i had thought of doin the same thing to my Z...im either goin silver, viper blue or black... dont kno which tho??

 

A friend of mine has a 99' Camaro with that exact color paint and it is not that flattering at all!
