Re: Matte black vinyl
You lookin' for a whole wrap, or just graphics/stripes etc. etc.? ....I wrapped a Ford F150 Raptor a few months back in Matte. Looked awesome, but it's a lot of work for a daily driver, and it hides NOTHING!!! LOL .....AND it ain't cheap. We use the 3M 1080 series for solid color wraps and it's expensive. As a rule, I'm not a fan or wraps for "color changes", only for advertising and loud attention getting graphics etc. etc.

Re: Matte black vinyl
My car is far from a DD. It is a 650 RWHP F1 procharched, T-56 weekend fun car. It has an aftermarket paintjob already. zero rust or dents. I just want to try something like satin white and think that vinyl would be a good way to give it a go. To paint my car like this it would be at least another 3 grand. Thats how much my first paintjob was. I can't imagine the vinyl costing that much. Plus if I get any chips or blemishes, I can re-wrap. With paint I am sh__ out of luck since it is a custom color.
I don't mind doing the research and the work. I have been building this car for over 10 years. I enjoy learning how to do new things and doing them. I love work.

plastidip probably comes off easier too. There's a guy around here with a black plasti-diped Audi A4. Looks pretty good IMO

Well you're probably lookin' at around 2 grand for a properly installed, matte vinyl wrap. You could do it cheaper yourself of course, if ya know how.

From what I can find online, Ebay, that 1080 stuff can be bought for around 750 to do an entire car. As for plasti-dip, I will be looking into it more for sure. Calling them now.

I quit and peeled it off until I have more time to really do it.
