getting that itch?
Are you guys thawing out and working on your cars yet?? I'm getting that itch to do some work and burn some rubber, but up North there isn't much that can be done quite yet;

Re: getting that itch?
LOL, I feel for you. My car sits outside, so between daily rain or snow, I'm not able to work on mine. So I'm collecting the parts I need and storing them until we finally get some nice weather. I already have most of what I need. Just missing the bigger items like a complete exhaust system, all interior fabrics and leathers (winter rains leaked into trunk and molded out my mint interior...didn't know I had a leak until too late), new weatherstripping, and fiberglass replacement wing. Those are all the more expensive items I still need in addition to just a few more cheaper items for the engine. If this year is like last year, I have until August 1st to gather everything (that was when it finally stopped raining). Can't wait!!!!

I've got the itch but not gonna go crazy this year, might try my hand at retro hid's and I'm gonna get the founders camber caster plates, Prothane a arm bushings and get the stock a arms powder coated. Might powder cost the wonder bar and sway bars too.

75 degrees in Minneapolis today, and upper 60s/70s all week and for the forseeable future.

Well here in the south I can drive my Camaro whenever I want. It was nice enough to take the t-tops out this past w/e for a drive. My plans by the end of the year include paint and to freshen up the interior

Re: getting that itch?
I've had the itch ever since I started stripping my car down in October. Worked on her for a solid 3 months then had to go to work over seas. I'll be home in May to cure this damn itch and install all the parts I've been ordering

Re: getting that itch?
Just picked up an LS1 brake master cylinder and the windshield washer fluid reservoir for $20. The reservoir is going in my dad's purple haze convertible Z28 since I already have one on my car along with the 4th gen battery tray. He's got the battery tray in the garage ready to go in as well. Can't wait to swap out my master cylinder! I even have a brand new fluid reservoir to go on it!

Got mine out of the garage for a few. The garage was starting to "sweat" because it got really warm all of the sudden....so my wheels look almost silver instead of billet aluminum!

hoping to LSX this thing soon!

Re: getting that itch?
Too early in the year still. Weather has been fantastic, but still need a few heavy rains and some street sweepers to get rid of all the salt and sand from the roads, but it's getting closer!

Re: getting that itch?
Yah I got an itch, but that doctor said it was nothing serious and perscribed a gell that is applied directy to my,. Oh, the itch to drive my car, I see.
Its constantly sunny humid and warm down here, but issues with the car being legal and with it not working properly, keep getting in the way of me driving my beast. I got some good times in it yesterday. Got the registration (only used the onld one for one day, then it expired the next day), took it to the mechanic, Drove it around to a few auto shopping peeling a little rubber here and there, replaced that bad alternator, washed it, and peeled rubber through the neghborhood passed the neighbor with his old modded 240Z (he's got no chance). Also found out that mild powerslides in this thing are very controlable. Then I found out that, that day, the insurence lapsed haha. So now I have to go do some odds and ends work for money to get the insurance and gas for Saturday's TGO Houston meet. Its been/going to be a busy week.

Re: getting that itch?
Got a new Delco battery on Monday, applied for collector plates yesterday morning, then pulled it out and washed 19 months' worth of dirt off it before logging about 75 miles with the tops out. Next stop is the tire shop for new rubber and then an alignment at the dealer.

Re: getting that itch?
Itch somewhat scratched today! For the first time all year, it didn't rain or snow today. So I took the rare opportunity and tore out my interior carpets (moldy from water leak in rear spoiler bolt holes). My floors are rust free and beautiful, thankfully. Wing is completely destroyed, so I removed it. Car looks naked without it! I will buy a Hawk's fiberglass wing later when I repaint. Now there's a tarp over the car and a Dryz-Air container inside to prevent future moisture. Dryz-Air is the greatest thing ever; been using it in one of my other cars all winter and it works great.
Back to rain tomorrow, so no more work to be done on it until the next non-rainy day (who knows when that will be....). :-( Meantime, I'm still collecting parts for later install this summer when it stops raining.
