Painted the wheels GOLD today & got back from interior shop NO LOVE FOR GOLD WHEELS?

The day I bought this car it had standard 15" Z28 wheels. I searched for a bit for new ones. The RPO code called for 16" IROCs but in GOLD. No one had any gold ones for sale except some crazy nut 2 hours away who wanted $600 without tires. So I found some within 5 miles and bought the standard grey ones. Now that the weather was better I decided to paint them the correct color, or so I think it is correct GM gold? WHY NO LOVE FOR GOLD WHEELS?????
I also took the car in to the shop for some repairs in the seats on Monday. Beechwood seems to be almost impossible to find but I did locate some seats out of a vert and just bought the skins for the material. Everything looks great but it needs to go back in - the stitching on the drivers seat outside cushion is facing the same way. They need to fix that and tighten up the cushion on the bottom but lots better than a few burn holes and rips.
Now to get the new tires put on I bought on cyber Monday. Some upgrades still needed (new rearend, lowering springs, dual cats and louvers need installed) but it is coming along the way I envisioned it.

AGREED! I was going to do that today but the rain started. I also need to buff the roof and paint the edges of the t-tops. Still work to do to get it how I want but it is a good little detail project car. I need to get it back in the garage.

Okay, got them painted along with some interior work completed today. Added the Hurst Dual/Gate and console clock.

love the gold wheels, and nice job on the headlights, maybe add some clearcoat to make the headlight pockets shine, ive had flat black and gloss in the headlight pockets and the gloss looks 5 times better

I thought factory was trim black which is kind of matte black.... If it is supposed to be gloss black I will hit it again and change it up to be correct. I wanted the factory look but so easy to change. I do like it better in black, whatever black.

I think the gold wheels look excellent with the trim on your car. Yo really don't see many gold rims unless its the crosslace ones.

Do you mind if I ask what color gold that is. I might be wanting to use it. It looks great as far as I am concerned. It works with the rest of the exterior and the interior. I have always liked the look of the dual gate shifters. Very nice work.

I will have to look up the Paint code. I used dupli-color with a GM gold but will get the number code and name. Seems to be the correct color. I saw another one that was painted gold "GM" color but way too bright.

I'm diggin' the gold, tan and red combo dude. That gauge in the center console is pretty sick also I've never seen that before.

The two line, gold IROC-Z wheels are in my opinion the nicest looking wheel offered on any thirdgen. I am a tad biased I suppose...

I recently had my decals replaced on my IROC after new paint, and I was sure in '89 the black was the upper stripe. I better dig up some photos... yikes.

Thank you. I doubt I would have noticed that ever. I'm going to have some items fixed or updated on this car, the strip needs replaced anyway in the rear, so I might as well do all of it and make it correct. Thank you for pointing that out.

The headlight buckets look correct now. They should be a satin black, not gloss.
