How to clean the hood louvers on an Iroc
I am just curious if there is anything I can buy or a method to use to really clean up my hood louvers. I would like to make them look new again. I tried soap and water and that doesnt work. Any suggestions?

A small rag and Q-tips will be needed to get the louvers done.

I also used a similar product on the louvers. I also apply a coat of wax every once and a while this seems to darken them up a little.

I'm currently refinishing a set of louvers. Took me almost 3 months to find a set that's worth putting on my car. Yes, EXPENSIVE.
They're in primer now and I'll be blasting them with some of the SEM trim paint.
A little epoxy, filler, and sanding is going a long way.

I've had good results with Turtle Wax ICE in theliquid form. It makes them black but not real shiny or greasy looking. Plus it doesn't matter if you get it on the paint. Just wipe off any smudges with a microfiber.

Try Chemical Guys Fade to Black or Back to black, unlike the parts store products they will not harm the plastic by drying it out. If you look at the trim on my Durango windshield you will see how black this product changed it; it is water based and lasts about a month if you wash the car every week. The can goes a long way and the stuff works great, once its on for a half hour I buff it with a micro fiber towel to clean off any residue.

For the dashbaord and other interior trim try 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium or Sonax Dashboard Matte Cleaner.
For the rubber seals use nothing but 303 Aerospace Protectant.
On the louvers use some very fine cut polish to get out the blemishes and smooth the finish out. Then use a wax as a sealant. Be careful with the plastic, you don't want to rub too hard and melt or burn the palstic.
