LS swap nearly complete, I'll post up an new pic or 2.
Car was 2830 lbs dry with the Iron GenI motor, expecting to drop another ~75 with the LS and QM clutch.

Re: June COTM *VOTING*
Heres a little more info about my car. I've had it since 93, started out as a daily driver stock LG4 when I was a senior in high school. I built up the LG4 and got to down to a 13.4 1/4 mile. Then I built a 383 that started as a mid 12 sec combo that evolved into a high 10 sec combo. Then I build the 408 LS engine that is in the car currently. Its ran mid 10's with trans issues and a lean condition and should run low 10's once I get all the bugs worked out. I've only made about 10 passes on this combo, none this year yet. Just got the new trans and converter in, new fuel pump, and now I need to get my carb sorted out. It runs on pump gas and is driven to the track, I don't even own a trailer.

Re: June COTM *VOTING*
I voted for big_mods just cuz his car is one of my long time favorites... but jeez you guys have some nasty nasty rides!
Kevin89formula must be the prettiest Formula i've ever seen. Norcalz28, your car has an absolutely wicked very nice sleeper look to it. Very tastefully done car! Jbenge, that thing is just awesome! And fasteddi with your "just a v6 camaro..." look... LOL, very cool car.
It's almost unfair that only one person can win sometimes.
norcalz28... is that a 350 or a 383? How much power does it put out with the TPI on it? Those runners look huge, I thought it wasa FIRST TPI at first, but the plenum doesnt look like a FIRST.

Re: June COTM *VOTING*
Thanks. They are Accel runners that have been ported by Lingenfelter. The stock base was ported to match, as was the plenum. It started out as a crate ZZZ, 350 with 113 heads and carb intake, forged crank, pink rods and hypereutectic pistons. I swapped over my AFR heads, comp cam, and TPI.
I have not dyno'd it yet. But based on quarter mile times, I'm guessing it's only making about 250-260 to the wheels right now. Needs a tune to get the most out of the combo. Keep in mind it passes CA smog as is, nowhere close to the max. It's cleaner than my '01 S10.

kevin89Formula.... that car does NOT look like it has that much power. Looks like a beatifully preserved 5k mile garage queen with some sweet, sweet wheels. Amazing to have that kind of power hidden under the hood without a bunch of dead giveaways all over the car. It's kind of scary to say it, but at that power level, even that car is a hell of a sleeper.

kevin89formula,
I really like the wheels and stance. The wheels are unique and really set off the subtle style of the car. Thats how I like a car to be done, clean and subtle. The car appears close to stock on the outside except for the wheels but once you look closer there are way more mods....perfect, very well done. This is the first time I've seen pics of it.

Some really nice cars here but after having spent a loto of time around the Epic IROC of BIG_MODS I can vouch that his car is on another planet. Driven to work on nice days, track driven and did Power Tour last year in a monsoon of a storm... I would bet some of the other cars never get rained on...lol

My vote kevin89formula. I drive a Camaro, but that is a beautiful Firebird... and that motor is downright SCARY! I let my son drive the Z28 quite a bit, but I would not let him NEAR that thing!! It would be wrapped around a tree in no time. What are the seats? Nice door panels, by the way...

corbeau seats, had them recovered in leather.

on the weekends. I love driving to work in it on Fridays. But the reallity is if you want to keep a really nice car you can't daily drive them or you will tear them up. (rock chips, door dings, houston potholes, crazy 5:00 olclock traffic etc etc.) I do have all the creature comforts like A/C and a nice sound system. I would guess most of the older guys on this board have 3rd gens as toys. I like BigMods car, pretty sure he wants the car he built (track car for street) and I want the car I built (semi car show/street). both cool cars, just serves differant purpose. whatever the outcome in the voting it is a really fun thread for me to be in.
700 hp + drag radials + rain = sux
I am going to the Holley LS fest this September in Bowling Green KY.
bring out your car popeofpaint and we can line em up... unless its raining of course.

Re: June COTM *VOTING*
I'm tempted to vote Formula just for the lip on those rear wheels. 18" by what? And what offset?
But BigMods has an amazing car that is probably a blast to drive, a v6 running L98 times, ghost flames on a drag car.... Man, tough choices....

I'm really glad that the system is working and everybody is playing nice with it! It has been really fun to see what cars get brought out of the woodwork, and other members reaction to them!

I just still think its amazing the fun a Turboed V6 is and how unique it is. Everyone look at project89's sig pic and your see what motivated me to do my build. Im sure you'll see the resemblence between the cars without even looking at the motor.
