Spring cleaning - What are you working on for this summer?
I'm just curious to see what everyone is working on this spring to get ready for the car show season. Post up your maintenance, upgrades, paint jobs, wheel changes, etc.
I'll start it off.
BlueZee:
-just ordered new door weatherstripping from 1AAuto.com
-bought a new tonneu cover weatherstrip and some other misc. convertible pieces from a TGO member
-FINALLY getting my doors fixed with new bushings and pins. They've been hard to shut for a few years now and been starting to drag on the gfx. That's being addressed right now actually.
-debating on selling the Z06's and buying some chrome deep dish C5's from OEWheels
-got a hold of a set of late 4th gen Camaro seats and am having the leather redone in gray to put in the car
PurpleZee (dad's '92 vert):
-as soon as the wiring harness gets here (Pocket just finished it and is going to ship it next week), we will be sticking the LT1/T56 combo in it and getting it running
-the paint job was just completed recently, now working on the interior with new leather door panels and black leather 4th gen Camaro seats
-gotta get the dash put in as it has nothing in the car right now
I'll start it off.

Re: Spring cleaning - What are you working on for this summer?
So far:
Flushed radiator.
New air damn.
Stock Radio installed.
Did some rust prevention on the differential and sway bar.
Bought some pillar trim to replace a broken piece.
Lots of washing and waxing
Install a good set of Z28 Emblems.
Next year is her 30th Birthday, so I'm trying to save up to get her interior redone.

All wiring is now done new loom in the engine bay, istalled the super charger bracket ( tough time remembering where it all goes) hope to have it running soon. I will take it back to the booth and touch up a few spots, then install the new rims & tires along with the interior

Re: Spring cleaning - What are you working on for this summer?
Still working on the '84 Trans Am. New plugs, wires, tune-up etc. is finished. Doing Bilstein struts/shocks, end link rubber and sway bar bushings now. It still needs some weatherstripping/rubber items, some small parts of the decals repaired, headliner/sunvisors installed and a thorough buffing/detailing.

Saving for a Strange S60. Hopefully have enough cash by the end of the summer or over the winter. After all of the cash I spent on the swap this winter, it's going to be tough.

I don't have much appearance work to do other than a spring detail. But I have some other projects going on.

Forged 427ci.
Along with a true dual exhaust.

I just found out that my mother-in-law is giving us her 3 yr old above ground pool so looks like that will be another summer project. I guess its car related because I have meets at my place every once in a while

Trying to aquire the detent/cruise control bracket for my SLP T-Ram intake so I can install it and bring it to SeriousHP in Houston to have it dyno tuned. Then with the exception of the SLP TOTL Exhaust, my firehawk SLP performance package will be completed.

I'm done with mine. New cooler fan switch, power steering hose replacement, new tps sensor, oil and coolant change, new alternator and wet sanded/buffed the car. Now that the Fbodygathering is over I'm ready for PowerTour to enjoy the car.

Also was able to somewhat fix the sagging clothe in my headliner. Pulled off the plastic trim and was able to tuck the clothe back up in there. Got the pillar trim put on, pain in the butt, but my t-top latches alot smoother now.
Radio got installed and sounds great.

Getting stock Radio installed.
Did some rust prevention on the differential and sway bar.

Gonna try to get her tuned up by summers end.
Looking for a good set of Z28 badges.
Next year is her 30th Birthday, so I'm trying to save up to get her interior redone.

15 or 20 hours.
There were 3 coats of paint/primer so it took a while. I did it over a week.
Replaced the fenders. Had a little rust and a few dents that the $100 each for new was easier.

Re: Spring cleaning - What are you working on for this summer?
I pay myself VERY poorly.
.
I probably have about 40-50 hours already in this project with disassembly, strip, fix, prime... and I'm not even done with the primer yet.
Still need to:
Finish dent repair in pass door that was fixed and we found when stripping.
Fix saggy driver door.
Finish blocking and sanding body.
Scuff jambs.
DA all the "other" pieces. Bumpers, gfx, mirrors... There are a TON of little pieces.
Paint jambs and anything behind anything else.
Reassemble body
Paint, sand and clear.
Install windshield
Reassemble interior.
Get car to speedshop for tuning...
I don't think I'll get to drive it this year! Lol.
So far my investment is:
$200 in stripper and supplied
$200 for fenders
$200 for chin spoiler
$150 in primer and supplier
$0 in labor
Not to mention about $600 in headers, Y pipe, new speakers, alternator, plugs/wires...
If you were going to pay someone, I can see how a good repaint gets so expensive!
