Carbon Fiber 91-92 Grill installed :)

So I found a member recently that was making a Carbon Fiber grill for his own camaro... I said I had to have one, and PMed him begging to make more. After a few weeks he decided that he would. I am the first one on the site to get a grill delivered, and wanted to show everyone!

Here is a couple pics of it on the car...

I need to take the car out of the garage, and clean it up for some real pics, but didn't have time last night

More pics to come!

For those that want one I know he is already behind schedule making some for other members, but you can PM him for more information on cost and time.

I'm pretty sure after he gets the first run of them finished he will do more. Its something he does in his spare time. I'm sure he needs to make sure its worth it. PM him

It very well made. It doesn't quite fit as tight as the original GM piece, but not noticeable to most people standing in front of it. Figure that is because it is from a mold of the original.

Looks pretty cool, cant wait to get mine. But it looks like its like .5" too short. Is there really a massive gap between the grille and the bumper at the top?

yes, it is an actual carbon fiber grill, but you read my mind BlueZee.....kinda curious to have a factory one hydrodipped just for grins and see how it looks in comparison...

Yes there is gap at the top, but its not a 1/2" gap. More than I would like to see, and more than the OE part. Not sure why it doesn't fit tight, but honestly unless you are looking at it straight on you don't notice.

Yes, a totally new part completely made from REAL carbon fiber.

I bet it will look ok and save some money... still close but no cigar type thing. I honestly don't care for the hydrodipped CF look, no depth to it, so instantly looks fake.

Man, huge bummer on the fit and finish. I will be disappointed if mine comes back looking like that.

Yeah I wish it would have fit tighter to the top. Maybe yours will be a tighter fit. I don't understand how it could be different, really, cause my GM unit is tight, and this was a mold of one? Maybe there was a couple different runs of the original grills?

I had a spare grille that fit like that at the top, it was a gm unit. Im thinkin it came off a sagging bumper or something.

Either way though that is a really cool piece!! how flexible is it, maybe a strip of good double sided tape(3M) could attached to the top of the bumper?

The part is very solid and will not flex at all. Just gotta live with it or not... its the ONLY real carbon fiber grill like this out there

The fit is not bad on black, I wonder if it would be more noticeable on a lighter color car; either way its a good looking part

The resin looks like its got a lot of defects in it... is that just the lighting? Cool piece, nonetheless.

Well they were over $200 when the guy first was making them, but he basically screwed over a bunch of member with exception of me, and like 2 others. I'd find someone else to make one.

I don't know how to mold CF parts and nobody has pointed out problems before. Dude if you can do better I know of at least one customer ^^^
