I'm currently restoring an 86 Firebird and I want to keep it stock and after I paint I need to know where to put new decals since the car doesn't have any on it...thanks guys. I think I'm going to post my progress with the car soon

 

I know they have them for the sail panels and front fenders,where else would they be located.
And the fenders are not decals their plastic.

 

Well I know that it's just I heard that the decal for the front was located on the hood. I was just wondering if that were true or not.

Down load this,this has the locations of all the decals and emblems.

 

What I can gather,if your car had the Accent stripe package,the bird went on the bumper cover,if not it went on the hood.Check your RPO code.

Right now I'm still in the body work stage and most likely won't paint it this year ;( but who knows it could happen...plus I'm doing minor repairs here and there. Just got my head lights to work again...I'll try to post some pics soon.

 

Small bird on the bumper cover, large bird on the hood.

Sail birds are not accurately placed my stock ones were off by 1/4" from one side to the other, front to back and 1/8" different off the lower body line.

 

Were did you get the info on your decal placement???(1/4" side to side and 1/8" from body line).
I always thought their was a target area,within 1/4"-1/2".

 

I measured mine before I got my car repainted. Those numbers was the difference in the measurement from one side to the other on my T/A.

One bird was a 1/4" farther back and 1/8" lower on the sale panel than the bird on the other side. So they are within a 1/2" if that is their target area, which still isn't very accurate.

Once I got the car painted I averaged the measurements out and placed the new birds at that location. I know it was a little over kill but that is just me
