Me waiting in the staging lanes at Delmar with friends. (d*mn it i'm bony!)

Me still waiting in the staging lanes. notice the missing hood pin (thank goodness i decided to keep the latch)

Me about to have my a$$ handed to me by that truck (ran a 10.40)

Me actually pulling on this Camaro, until i miss third gear in about 30 more feet he ran a 14.11 and i was pulling on him, i am absolutely positive that that would have been my first sub 14 second pass. Dohhhh!!!

Magnolia is basically a housing developement for Dover DE. Im about 40 min to an hour away from the border of PA. Actually if your interested, i'll be heading up to Cecil County Dragway this saturday for the test and tune. Not sure if i'll have the Z back together by then, so might end up in the beater. Either way i'll be there.

Kat wants a picture of my car at the track. Oh, wait a minute, it usually sits in Atco's parking lot with about 15 other 3rd gens.

Kat, we need to run against each other (and supervillin) one day in front of the LV crew. We can all run high 15s together TBI POWER

Yeah, the license plate was "Legal Z". It had a lot of very nice suspension mods, a nine inch Ford rearend, all tubular Global West LCA's and Panhard rod. It was a very sweet car. I complimented the owner on it but he looked at my car and acted like he didn't want to talk. The first time we ran (we ran side by side twice that night) we lined up, and I ran an 11.8something and he went a 12.2something the first time. The second time we lined up I went a 11.70 (my best run of the night) and he went a 12.0something. I would have liked to have talked to him about the car more, but he didn't seem interested in conversation. It made me feel pretty good about my car, plus my interior is much more like a street car than his was. I sit in the staging lanes listening to my CD player if someone breaks or there is a long line!! At the time, I was running (besides a driver's side airbag) a totally stock rear suspension, and I was only able to pull a best of a 1.69 60' time all night. I now have an all tubular rear suspension with Spohn LCA relocation brackets, but I haven't ran a 1/4 track since I put them on. I did run a 7.21 @ 94.65 w/ a 1.589 60' time at local 1/8 mile track, but it is not a NHRA sanctioned track, and some people around here argue that ther clocks are not accurate, so I don't post the improved time in my sig or tell everybody that my runs "7.20" until I do it at a "real" track. It was in terrible weather though, and it has been my experience that the clocks at that track are consisent with the clocks at Montgomery or Reynolds, so in some good weather I really feel my car can go 11-teens like it sits.

From what I remember in the rags, it was a stock bottom end with AFR heads, cam, Miniram, good converter, suspension. I think 12.0's was the best it got, maybe an 11.9. That's about the only magazine project car I remember that actually ran pretty good. All this other junk they build runs worse than stock!! That's funny that you were killing him down the track! Especially after he gave you the "I'm Bad" attitude!!
