Re: Interesting B4C

Looks more like a police D.A.R.E. car rather than one used for actual patrol duty.

Re: Interesting B4C

Its a legit B4C. Seen this car in person and it looks great. The owner actually leads our caravan when we do our annual cruise to South Padre Island.

Re: Interesting B4C

I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't. Just that patrol cars are rarely decorated like that. Retired B4Cs make for good D.A.R.E. cars.

Re: Interesting B4C

Scratching my head on this one. Incorrect seats, incorrect hood, and I could be wrong but I thought the L98 engine got the 3.23 gears in 91? Or is it the fact that it is technically an RS mean it got 3.42 gears?

Only Car to get 3.42s for '91 & '92 was the 305 TPI Z28 with M5 and possibly V6 RS non g92 as far as my knowledge goes, the rest got 3.23 or 3.08s or 2.73s so gears are wrong, power blisters weren't factory on B4C & neither were 4th gen leather seats, its got an aftermarket radio, and I'm wondering where's the CB or antennas? I'm not all too shre abiut this being a genuine B4C simply because I've seen a Real B4C fully loaded with all the equipment sold for 15 grand, for all we know it could be an RS with an L98 swap and Z28 145mph cluster, its not that hard to do, and just do a COO style paint scheme and swap the Z28 hood on.

Re: Interesting B4C

Hmm that's strange, I just checked the License Plate on Carfax and it came up as a 1991 Camaro Z28 with 9 history records.

Re: Interesting B4C

CARFAX will not indicate the car as a B4C... mine showed up as a Z28 based on the engine digit in the VIN.

Get the VIN and run it through the compnine database.

The VIN is stamped in too many places on a body not to have it, besides the VIN tag under the windshield on the dash.

I think if the history could be researched good enough, it would be found to be a D.A.R.E. or a higher up managements car if it is even a true B4C at all.

I know, EVERYBODY knows, but if I'm in Los Angeles and this supposed B4C is in Houston how the Hell am I supposed to examine the body and get a close look at the vin ?

I can't see a photo of the vin in the Craigslist ad do you ?

Ask the seller for the VIN. For a legit B4C sell, then he should have no problem with that. Just tell him that yo need to verify that it is a B4C. He won't provide it? That likely means that he knows that it is not a B4C.

Pic of VIN and the SPID will resolve this.

Not rocket science.
