After reading a post i wanted to know if any one here has moved their third brake light from the top of the rear hatch to the top of the z28 wing... If not, is it possible? If so, how would u cover up the original place of the light?

Get a hatch from an earlier ('82-'86) model which has no provisions for the third brake light.

An 86 hatch won't work, because the 86 has the third brake light on the outside of the hatch up high.

i thought it was like this...

82-85... no 3rd brake light...
86... in the spoiler...
87-89... outside of hatch...
90-92... inside of hatch

i could be wrong though

i just looked at the camaro brochures for all the years, and it's like this:

82-85 - no 3rd brake light
86 - 3rd brake light on outside the hatch
87-89 - 3rd brake light in the spoiler
90-92 - 3rd brake light inside the hatch

there is nothing wrong with the 86 light...thats what makes it unique.i have it and you should look at my car...it dont look bad.i have yet to get new pics up..the ones up are bad..i have alot of new engine parts that are chromed out and i lowered the shocks in the back...but take a look and tell me if u think it looks bad..i dont think so

 

Just thought i'd add that my 90 iroc came with the light in the spoiler

then it went back inside later (1991??)

 

remember that hatches can be replaced guys...mine has no light at all, and its an 86...

'87 Sport Coupes without a rear spoiler got the '86 3rd brake light. The spoiler was an option.

'90 had the light in the spoiler as has already been mentioned.

I personally like the '86 light as it is brighter than the '91-'92, and mounted up high is easier to see than the spoiler mounted ones. Also the spoiler mounted ones screw up adding stripes.
