Who said Camaros are more aggresive looking than Firebirds?

They`re natural born streetfighters in my opinion.

BTW: I like Camaros too!

i like them both, but Firebird is the best IMO. The camaro looks like it could just launch in a straight line into crazy speed at the dragtrip, while the firebird looks like it could swerve and maneuver through turns like a hellacious demon on acid I love when i leave work the girls are standing there and as i back out of the spot, right as i put it in first to pull out, i start to roll and pop the lights up, it must look bad a$$. Then get to the corner and light 'em up, hold the car sideways for a few seconds then regain it, swooping a dipping for all to see. , only about half an inch of body roll.....but the iroc's, just slamming, and charging ahead in one perfectly straight line.... man the two look so alike, yet so different. I'm gonna have to vote for my precious firebird though

Birds always had that refined style look with the performance to back it up, while the camaro was always the bruiser mutt of the two with the power to move just like its twin. Yet they are and always have been the poorman's sports car... which makes them both the ultimate underdogs... The number one factor why I own one of each...

My out on the town bird for those hot dates, and my camaro for those cruise'n days

BTW I would put my car up against any 91-92 Z28 to see which one is "lighter"
UHm, i thought Camaros are lighter than firebirds?

Ive seen this discussion many times, and people post from factory that Camaros beat Firebirds by at least 100 lbs...

Don`t forget that the Fbirds are more aerodynamic than Camaros, and they go faster

I love them both right up until ya turn on da headlights, and those ugly googly-eye lights pop up on da firebirds....then I'll take my Camaro . That is one of the reasons I LOVE Redraifs firebird, cuz of the pop-up light delete she did. Camaros also look meaner, and firebirds look sporty, like that one dude said. I'll take my camaro and cruize thank you very much

as far as thirdgens go definitly camaros. The thirdgen firebirds look alot like chick cars. And for some reason the 91,92 camaros got extremely bad *** were as the 91,92 firebirds down graded quite a bit in my opinion. But 4th gen birds with the big ram air hood owns all, early 4thgen camaros weren't too bad but whats with the later years front and *** ends? they look like the stole the style off of a sebring!

I think the reason everyone likes the 91-92 camaros is cuz they got those sweet GFX w/ the ports or whatever you wanna call them. Those make so much difference, its crazy.

TempesT68:

the bird ever sence the first one rolled out in 67' to the present allways had the edge (perposly from GM) over the camaro so hands down the bird is better.
I don't think that the Firebird has had the edge since it rolled out in 67'. How many races has the Firebird paced overall?

TRANS AMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it seems the firebirds were looked at as better. I can think of some significant 3rd gen firebirds(firehawk, TTA, Night rider, 500 pace cars, etc) but i can't think of any signifcant camaros except for maybe the 1982 500 pace car. And for the most part 3rd gen camaros looked almost exactly the same, with no real changes, but the firebird looked totlay differant 3 times(82-82, 85-90 and the best, 91-92 . 2nd gen, firebirds we always better looking and faster even in the late 70's with their big blocks, which wasn't even availible on a camaro. also i believe the late 70's TA's were availible with yet another turbocharged motor. 4th gen camaros look gay IMHO, until 1998 when they looked a little better. but the 98+ TA was even better looking then that!, and it always had the SLP option avail. whereas camaros couldn't until 1995. Also didn't the 4th gens come with a V6 supercharged or something? did the camaros have that?.1st gen however i am with the camaros! But i think the first trans am(1969) was awesome too, and was VERY close to the 69 SS. I have never really liked converts of either.

Firebirds are more feminine looking while Camaros are more aggressive looking. I like both, but I would rather have GTA if I had to choose. I like IROCs and Z28s, but not the SC and RS so much. Its like Corporate Executive (Firebird) vs. Mr. Universe (Camaro). Both look good, but in different styles.

I had the exact same question when I rejoined the boards. That picture is called an avatar.
Click the User CP button.
Then click the Edit Options. button.
Scroll down all the way until you see avatar.
Then you can choose an avatar of your choice or submit your own personal one like mine.
Hope that helps.

I would take performance over appearence because with the right amount of money you can turn any vehicle into what ever you want it too look like. I guess with the right amount of money you can make any engine fast too. I would still take performance over anything right now.

The Birds are all awesome looking. From 82-92 they were perfect.

The camaros from 82-87 needed some help. From there they all had GFX and smooth noses... 91-92 were the greatest years...

In gereral, The Birds are the sleek, sports cars.... They look like they would "fly" by anyone... kinda like a 'vette in that respect.

A camaro looks like a muscle car.... something that would eat you.

It is really hard to explain. I love them both!

I can't agree. The WS6 suspension beats anything the Camaro had for handeling hands down.

4th Gen Trans-AM's never came with V6's. They have always been either LS1 or LT1 V8's. Camaro's perform equally well in the 4th gen minues one thing. They do not get the WS6 package for handeling. Nor do they get the Ram Air, unless you get the SS Camaro. But you don't get the suspension. I have driven both a 4th Gen Camaro and a Trans-AM. To me the Trans-AM felt like it was built a little better. Like it was a more well tuned version of the same car. Just my opinion.

i thought that the top notch ss and the top notch firehawk or ws6 (wichever one you chose to go with) were suppose to have the same suspention setings? and third gen related, my car has suspentiom level 3, which is equal to the ws6 suspention wise.

Pontiac since the 70s (more so in the 80's) have been known for aggressive styling packages on their cars, 3rd gen wise I like the birds far more but the maros possess things I wish the birds had. back when the 3rd gens were designed it was pontiac that went the extra mile to make the body more functional, the aero wheels, pop up lights, and the early rear spoilers were designed to be slick (pontiac quoted coefficents of .299 with aero wheels in 84 on TA's).

What makes the 3rd gen maro look meaner? maybe the front end design but imo its not the rear, 86 and up rear treatments to TA's and later GTAs are much meaner looking.

IROCs do appear like they mean more business than the GTAs but these 2 cars had different missions and the Formula should be compared to the IROC in the meaning business department.

Styling wise for camaros my top pick are the IROC's and the 79-81 Z28's and for the Pontiac side its the TA/GTA/TTA's 86-90 (Styling only).

Now lets go through the 4 major generations overall all IMO

1st Gen - Maros had styling edge

2nd Gen - Maros till 74, Birds till 78, and Maros till 81 (I loved the front and rear styling of camaros 2nd gen wise, in the late 70's adding GFX made it look sooo much better)

3rd Gen - Birds throughout. Chevy took the 78-81 rear taillight design and increased the height and width which imo made it not look as good as in the past.

4th Gen - 93-97? the birds were designed too aggressively and the slight edge goes to the maro for the simpler design, 98-02 Pontiac gets it right and makes the Fbody look better, Chevy on the other hand goes to a new look with its front end treatment and looses its appeal it had with the refined 3rd gen looking front end (light sockets).

And on a side note Ford FINALLY is playing some ball looks wise with the 99 up GT/Cobra looks and GM kills the Fbody!? ugh kill the beancounters!

Pontiac and Chevrolet have had different suspension configs for the Fbody, Ive read somewhere that Pontiac favors large bars and Chevy favored stiffer springs?
