Racing stripes on 1991 Formula?
Just thinking about putting silver/gray stripes on my black firebird. Do anyone have any clue how it would look? Or someone here with enough photoshop skills to draw them on it? Just now I don't have any pics from the front of the car, but will add soon here. Here is my car anyway
From the very bottom of the front bumper all the way to the bottom of the black bumper. Two semi-wide stripes. How it would blend with the power bulge? Don't feel shy to give your opinions or throw in your own ideas.

(yah yah european mirrors
already got real original mirrors and ready to swap

IMO the asymmetric design of the hood won't work with a design so dependant on symmetry. I think it's hard to make racing stripes work on 'birds in the first place because there are so many V shapes in the design.

Couldn't have said it any better. Leave the stripes to camaros and mustangs. Member

Uh, no. Twin strips are for camaros. They just don't "look" good on a bird unless you have a 69 Trans Am.
Just consider what it will do to your resale value if you ever decide to sell.
Bottom line is, its your car and can do what you want with it buuut as most will tell you, no stripes look best. ESP on the formula

I wont paint them on, just decals so they can be removed any time desired thus no damage to resale value. I must be out of my mind
still not sure though

It's your car and you can do whatever you want to it.
That being said, the car is ****ing stunning just the way it is & if it were mine I would leave it alone.

Re: Racing stripes on 1991 Formula?

I have to see them on the car before I decide. I'll take it to the decal shop in the spring and see it for my self. If it is not good I wont do them but if it is I'll do it. People here would think im crazy if im not going to do it

Re: Racing stripes on 1991 Formula?
well that blue one dose look good. I think the lack of the power bulge hood and not being a full wrap around stripe like in your model is what makes it work, As a matter of fact that car is the first firebird with stripes I have liked, it seams to flow well.

Re: Racing stripes on 1991 Formula?
I was going to on my Trans Am, Where the 2 vents in the center are, leave in between that red all the way up the hood, then make the the rest of the curve the secondary color. Hard to explain, but where the v lines go up the hood would be where the pin stripe around the stripe. I was planning on making them accent and define the factory hood lines. They would be really wide by the back of the hood.
