Easily removed water spots
I have found water spots on my car because of the neighbors sprinklers. I tested different ways of removing them with out rubbing on the paint with no success and than out of the blue my girl said try distilled water.
I poured a little on a new micro fiber towel and lightly wiped it on. Then dried it with a synthetic shammy. Gone, and I mean gone.

Yep, it works - I've been using this for years. And........
add a little white vinegar to it and it removes water spots from windows too.

Yeah, that generally works pretty well and is cheap. You can also buy some products that safely remove hard water spots from glass and paint.
This is good stuff but pricey, but I would prefer to use it on a new or expensive paint job.

I use this. Works great. Even use it on shower glass.

We have hard water here.
You can also use a water De-ionizer filter set, if you prefer to wash without hand drying. (hand drying can induce micromarring, and fine swirl marks) A de-ionizer allows you to wash your car and let it sit and air dry without water marks. For those of you with show quality paint jobs.

Re: Easily removed water spots
I'm going to try this. I've tried every product known to remove spots on my 82 Trans Am ttops and nothing will take the spots off that glass so far. Not even 0 gauge steel wool will take it off. I've tried buffing the glass, etc. and it does not come off. I gave up on it a couple years ago and haven't tried any of the new products that have come out since yet. I don't know what is on those tops but they look like my shower door except it will not come off.

They make good products, like everything not all of them are great.
Look into pro detailing equipment, and products. You know, stuff you can find on the shelves at auto-zone.
I buy my products from detailedimage.com, autogeek, and sometimes amazon.
