The third brake light on my '86 is basically flapping in the breeze.. you know how it is on the outside of the window? Somewhere between the time I got the camaro and now the sealant has mysteriously dissappeared and i want to get it fixed.. is it a bad thing to let it go on for awhile, or is it important i get it fixed now? IF so, where do i get it?

I personally find them unattractive, at least compared to the one mounted on the spoiler....are they a legal obligation, or can you just take it right off?

 

i know here in CT that you dont need to have oneif your car is pre 86 but it varies from state to state, call your DMV

 

On the top of the housing there are 2 screws. Try retightening them.

I would just go to the junk yard. They are pretty easy to get and it is only 2 phillips screws that your have to work with. Real easy job.

i have the light on mine. i like them b/c thats what makes the 86 so unique. thats just me. i like alot of things most people on this board dont. like i like my rims but no one else does. so i would just fix the light b/c i think it looks good and makes the 86 the 86.

On my 86 I replaced the hatch glass with a glass from a 1991 RS that had the light on the inside of the glass. Looks better IMHO.

i love your wheels. they are kick @$$. i want them for my elky. and as far as the light goes. tighten down the two screws and leave it. it is an 86 u know. otherwise u have a plain ol camaro.

ha... tape.. i thought about it... i actually admit to putting back on those dang circle plastic pieces back on my back window with superglue... it still on there!! but i tried tightenin the screws and it still does a wobble thing.. i like the light.. it makes my car "flow".. hmmm...

86street, who doesn't like your wheels? I almost bought those same wheels. You *** your car for the way you like it, not the way someone else does. And you are right about the 3rd light. that's what makes it unique. In fact if from the side profile with a cowl type hood it looks sweet.
