97 thirdgen rims!!!

I've never seen such a huge selection for thirdgens before. http://www.superbuytires.com/wheels_by_car.html
You have to search for '82-'92 Camaros. They don't have a choice for firebirds but we know its the same shiet. A lot of these are more truck style meant for the S trucks since they can have almost the same rims as us. check em out.

I like those too. I bet if you got 18x10's on the rear and some 17x10's on the front, it would look freakin bad!

I don't think 17x10s would fit in front.

What would be the main interference? Anything is possible with a little work, and my car will be tied up for a while anyway. What steps would I need to take to see if I could stuff em in there?

can you give some specs on the rims, backspacing, tire sizes, method of lowering? Thanks . I talked to the guy that had the '91 black z28 in Car Craft. he had torque thrust 2s. he said they rubed the shocks when he bottomed out on the freeway.

Tas,
My fronts have 4.5" BS and the rears have a 7" , which I really wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you don't mind doing quite a bit of clearancing. I actually had to heat the inner fenderwells and actually stretch the sheel metal to fully clearance them. I had to notch the factory LCA's a little more than 1/2". I have since made a set tubular ones for it, and I had to offset them to make them clear. But as I sit here, I can't make them scrub now. A thirdgen with that much B/S, by all practical means needs to have mini-tubs. But the effort was worth it, because the pictures don't really do the car justice, because the rear tires's section width is a little over 13", and they are just BARELY under the lip of the quarter panel. The front section of both of my wheels are the same offest which looks cool. When its time for new tires, I'm thinking of going with 315's instead the 335's because even with the 12" rims the 335's seem just a little too wide for the rim. I took a big set of 18" Vernier calipers @ work and measured the section width, and was 13.48 inches.

SEC actually went bust, so I guess one good thing is I'll probably be one of only a few with these wheels on a thirdgen. I am going to take the wheels apart (they are a 3 peice design, and they are actually bolted together with 12-point ARP stainless steel bolts, which is cool), soon, and sand the paint off and polish the top "ridge" of the crosslace pattern, and leave the "inside" black. The crosslace pattern looks surprisingly close to the Boyd Cottington Tuned wheel, and I think it will do wonders for the look of the car. I just bought a ASCD SS hood for the car (pics soon) and, I also have a set of '91 Z28 GFX and rear aero wing that I am going to put on the car. Then, hopefully in the spring, I am going to have the car painted Sebring Silver. I photoshopped my wheels on a pic of someone's silver 91 Z, and I think looks great. What do you think??

**Notice that the side marker light and the rocker emblems are deleted?? That's not a mistake, I plan to do that. I may remove the side molding, and put 4th Gen "SS" emblems on the front fenders, but I haven't decided yet. Also I flipped the original pic, and forgot to remove the antenna, DOHH!!
