online carshow!!!

someone else posted about who had the best looking car, what does everyone think of having an online carshow? just for fun of course.

we could have a post that has everyone's pictures they want entered and a seperate post for voting.

who would be interested? we could limit it to one outside shot and one engine shot in order to enter (to keep those from posting 10 pics each). or we could go for categories like nice paint, engine, etc.

what does everyone think? lets get some ideas and try to keep it simple so we can do this with little effort and keep it organized.

I think it's a great idea. Can we have a worst looking category?? I'd win because I have a spray paint paint job... one good painted red door... front ground effects are cracked... but gimme about a month or two so I can finish fixin my car up THEN I'll enter haha

We have an online carshow. It's called the "Reader's Rides". I talked to Brad a while ago suggesting adding hit counters or voting/rating, and a few navigation buttons to make it a little easier to browse the rides quickly. He said he liked the ideas I sent him and will probably add them in a later version, but you guys gotta know he's got other things to do and is probably working on the Classifieds now anyway.

this is for fun..... i don't think the readers rides counts as a show; more of a display of those who are members.

don't post pics for this post.......this is just to get an idea on how everyone wants to start it.

what if we have an elimination type setup, where everyone who wants to post can post. then all of us hand pick a certain amount.

we need to decide on what categories those who want to do this would like.

should we go by year groupings? model types; etc. what do you guys think?

Could always just post the pics on some site. ( I have a domain we could use ) everyone just submits one Exterior shot , a interior shot and a Engine pic . Make a page with your pics and post it..then after all are submitted. People vote on a top 20....10....5...etc

Just a idea

now that's the idea i'm looking for.....what does everyone think?

you don't have to post a pic of a car to enjoy this or have fun with it. i think it would be fun to see all the nice cars some of the member have on here.

I like the idea. I think it should be setup by year, and I think there should be 4 pics allowed. That way if you have a system, you can show it. Like one exterior, one interior, one engine, and system if applicable. And any sub categories like Best engine, best interior, nicest exterior, cleanest (original), best stereo, stuff like that.

well........let's get this thing started.

i know there's more who would do it once this things up. so since we seem to be the only one's interested right now let's get the ball rolling and decide umongst ourselves how we want to do it.

would all of you like to do this on a single post here or should we look for a web page type deal like offered above?

www.cardomain.com is pretty ,uch an online carshow. You make your own quick webpage (and its really easy) and people rate you car and they are categorized by brand/model etc. There are ALL kinds of cars. And there's also ratemyride.com which isnt so bad either

I'm not looking for a place to rate my ride or for others.. they're out there.

i'm looking for a place that 3rdgen owners can all get together over a couple of days and show off they're rides and we can have a fun environment where people can view some pics and vote on their favorites.

wether we do this on someone's server or just post a single post here it doesn't matter.

to often we just have posts with hundreds of pics that take a long time to view; if people don't want to do this then that's fine, it was just an idea for fun.

this is going no where fast.

guess most people don't care for this idea that much, i just thought it could be something for for some of us to do.

i think most of you should have a photoshop contest, seems more people spend time on photoshoping that other things in here.
