My satin Lime Green maro!

Haven't posted in ages!! But here are a couple of pics! I have been busy swapping an RB25DET skyline motor into my 240sx, has got be thinking of doing the same swap into my 1991 maro! Was just going to do something easy like lt1/t56 swap, but I guess we will just have to see.
I know lime green isnt for everyone but hey my car turns heads everywhere!

Re: My satin Lime Green maro!

Yeah, i was going to go yellow, but im glad I did the green!
The wheels are i believe varrstoen, but I painted them a light gunmetal to match the green.
I shaved the front side markers, added s10 door handles, shaved antenna, added a billet mustang gas cap, adn grand sport gt mirrors.
It also has red RX8 seats, will get better pics but my rear window shattered on my drive home so I need to get that fixed, might do a rear lexan window!

Nice car man, has some nice touches. The stance is great, chopped the springs? Aftermarket springs? I'm looking into doing those door handles, that looks great and is probably stronger than these flimsy stock handles...

What are the wheels exactly? Been looking for a design that suits me and these are pretty cool. What size as well, 18's?

The springs are eibach sportline springs that are cut a little in the back, it looks raked in the pictures but it is the incline of the parking lot.
I believe the wheels are Varrstoen but I bought them a couple years back, but they are 19s, 285/3519 rear and 275/3519 up front. Going to go 2454518 in the front because I dont care for how they track the grooves in the roads.
The whole suspension is tubular, energy suspension bushings, rebuilt front end, sways bars, strut brace, aftermarket strut mounts . Have a set of C5 brakes, aluminum driveline, and a 3:73 disc brake rear end in the garage which will be next . Just need more power. Going to see how I like the power of a RB25DET swap that I am doing in my 240sx currently, might be cool to see a thirdgen with a turbo V6 skyline motor!
Heres my 240 that is also fun,

Well, the first time it happened when I adjusted my hatch and tried to bend the hinges to make the hatch fit visually better, and a month later it shattered in my garage. This time i replaced the glass but am not sure if I replaced the hinges also, but I hit a dip in the road and it just shattered. I had it on a year and thought I had resolved this problem. I might try one more time with new hinges and glass, but will add a lexan rear piece if it breaks again, I kinda like the rivets on the lexan rear windows, we will just have to see.

I like the look of the door handles. What is involved in swapping the handles?

I bought two doors off of a s10 blazer ($40 on craigslist) and cut about a 1/4 inch around the handle of the door sheet metal. cut the exact same square in my camaros door and welded it into place. I then bought a key lock cylinder for the handle with key on ebay. The door lock bars also had to be trimmed and rewelded to fit the new handle.

Yeah, i was going to that initially, but then I would have to paint the side mirrors, the gas cap, and I sort of wanted a factory look, with the wild paint set up, if that makes sense. I am still going to paint the hood pins with either black or the same gunmetal grey as the wheels.

Not my style, but the car is very hard not to like. Nice job.
BTW... lexan scratches and hazes VERY easily. Probably isn't a very good idea for a street car.

Is that a functional SMC hood? Was wondering what it would look like on my 89 rs. I like them better then the louvered hoods.

Re: My satin Lime Green maro!

I like the green color, jade green is another id like to see.Been wanting to do the door handle swap myself.Got the grand am door handles, but the sheet metal is an other thing.

Got s10 handles too, but the camaro lock barrel is easier to mod for the grand am than s10.Car looks great though, nice work.

Not sure what SMC means, but yeah my car is a 91 rs, but the hood is from an earlier z28 hood, i did cut out two vents in and welded in a mesh insert.

Yeah, it would be cool, but I prolly just do a lt1 swap, much easier and cheaper, have to many projects, also fixing up a 76 ford truck with a 70 front end.

I really like these mirrors, they are spa gt le mans mirrors, great visalbility, light weight, but pricey though.

I will try to get a close up, they are some billet hood pins i believe that were advertised for a classic mustang, but I still figured they should still fit and they did, might save up and get the hotchiss ones.

Well, i finally went to the local u pull it and got another rear window, center console, going to order some red checkered mats that should match the red on my momo steering wheel and red centered RX8 seats, will post pics after the install.
