so, i thought we'd try something different this month. rather than doing the usual monthly nomination process for December, we will simply let all of this year's winners compete for Car of the Year.
this is merely in the interest of changing up the routine. if you guys dont like this idea, feel free to voice your opinions. if this proves unpopular, we won't continue with the concept.
the eight winners are:

jbenge '91 Z28 November

maks10 '90 TA October

grngryoutmyway '92 RS September

ray jr '85 IROC August

82tarecaro '82 Recaro TA July

Justin89formy '89 Formula 350 June

Hawks312 '86 TA May

Mantaguy '86 TA April

I voted for maks10 because I really like his car. lots of f-birds and hard to choose so decided to support someone who has been very supportive to the community!

Re: Poll: 2014 Car of the YEAR (CotY) **VOTING**
Yikes! Some stiff competition. Here are the details on mine though.
Thank you guys so much for the nomination. My car is a 92' RS (now converted exterior to Z) that I bought from the original owner in 02' and used as a daily driver/resto mod up until Dec 12' when she got hit and the front end ripped off of the car. I spent the next 6 months stripping the whole car down to bare metal, doing body work and respraying the car in my garage.
I believe this is the, or at least one of the rarest colors on thirdgens. It is Dark Green Grey Metallic and had less than 2500 cars produced in it. In addition to being a one year only color, it was also not an option on the Z28, it was RS only, though you could get the B4C package in it.
-iForged Aero 3 piece wheels
-C5HD Brakes (dual piston calipers and drilled/slotted 13" rotors)
-Rear disc conversion with Thorsen posi and 3.23 gears
-LO3 with open element and ultimate TBI mods (going LS soon!)
-4th gen leather, and hand made (by me) aluminum dash kit
-Full performance suspension; Eibach Sportline Springs, KYB AGX Shocks, Hotchkis weld in SFCs, trailing arms, and adjustable panhard bar, BMR adjustable torque arm, wonder bar, Energy Suspensions poly bushings, poly engine and trans mounts, sway bar end links
-Custom Billet Z28 Emblems by FSTFBDY and custom Billet Grill and Hood inserts by me
Repairs

Being a Camaro owner, it was real hard to vote against some real sweet Camaros, but I've personally seen Mantaguys TA in person, and it is SUPER NICE!! That's why he got my vote! I think Fran & I may be the only 2 original owners of our cars in our local club. Good luck Fran, you deserve COTY!!!!

Re: Poll: 2014 Car of the YEAR (CotY) **VOTING**
I`ll just repeat what has already been said by the other contest nominees...just an honor to be part of this group. Very nice everyone. I need to thank my wife for putting up with me being out in the garage all the time, parts lying everywhere, and strange guys coming over to the house.
Also thanks to Mantaguy for advice on getting the interior done.
Anyway for those who are interested, here`s the restoration thread for mine:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...-trans-am.html
Here is the car in 2010:

After 3 years, here is where it is now. My brother built the LS1 engine, which dynoed at over 400hp at the rear wheels. He also complete rebuilt the suspension with energy components, and 1LE brakes. At one point, the entire drive train was out of the car. He also figured out how to convert the analog dash wiring into digital, and yet somehow wire it into the LS1 harness without any out of the box conversion kits or adapters. I put the interior together and restored it (the car had no interior when we got it) and also did all the body and paint work. The entire car was painted, wet sanded and buffed out.
I dont think there was one bolt left unturned on the entire car.

Hawk that is a beautiful job. And to wire the dig dash into a new motor, that must have been a tremendous challenge. Looks great.
