Yes, the digital dash works great, it gives the car a very 1980's personality. Although digital dash is common in our modern daily drivers, it was quite a novelty back then.
I see the digital dash as one of several technologies that were pioneered by GM's 3rd gen F-body line for high volume production cars that are now universally applied by all auto manufacturers. Others include aerodynamic bodies, multi port injection, use of aluminum to replace steel, and designing handling into the suspension.
