I voted black, but actually like several colors depending on the exact model of car & color shade.
When I was younger I preferred red, but now that I'm older, I appreciate white more, & love black, although here in Oklahoma the summers make black very very hot!

I voted neither because I like them both. I have seen close-ups of your car tho and it's very nice but I haven't seen the other one besides the pics. As for colors in general I like both tho.
I'll admit, there are alot of great lookin' colors out there to choose from and it's very hard to pick one...
Overall, I'd say my favorite is white, it just looks so clean and it really shines at night....and with tinted windows, badass!

I just thought i would post this for fun..........
the red car is actually dark metallic red in the bright sunlight. it was the original color of my car before i painted it candy.
the black car was my ex-girlfriends........aw to be young and bored again....those were the days.

I love black camaro's, but if 'anything' happens to a black car... it sticks out (my father's LHS has this problem).
Other then black, i'll have to go with white with dark blue accents,
or Midnight Metallic Blue (painted my '83 last week this colour, it looks really good)

A black paint job shows off every imperfection in the paint. You have to wax it and polish it heavily to get any sort of reflection. This isn't my opinion it is fact; black reflects no color, that's why it's black!!!
interesting perception.........i like black as well, but it was my second choice mainly because you can't really see the beautiful body lines that a lighter color like red can give off. i like white as well, but not for a sports car.
Well i like white... but only when the paint is in good condition and no fishin yellow stains by the gas tank cus some jackass cant poor gas... and another jackass ( me in this case) too dumb to clean it off in time..
but at night my car looks amazing ... even if somewhat dirty... during day ... BLACK is best.. but im biased towards both..
altho silver is catching up

GreenProStreet, I agree with the imperfections statement, but to say it doesn't reflect seems a little weird. Check out my sig pic, I didn't paint those clouds on there. As for the heavily waxing, my car was just waxed only 2 weeks ago, those pictures were taken long before then. I could go out right now, and with over 2-3 days of almost straight raining, I could show you the clouds and trees off most any part of my car. Black reflects better than any other color with a light red being up there with it.

Well... I have had black cars, white cars, metallic green, and blue (plus a couple of other god awful colors that I won't mention..hehe)... I love black cars...for show they take the cake...everything reflects off them and they bring out the body lines of a car. But, in my experience they are too hard to keep looking perfect
...dust shows up on them far more than a lighter color, scratches are like beacons, and if the paint job isn't perfect you will see every fault.
I was kicking around some ideas about what color to paint my car in the spring...should I keep it maui blue, should I go with black, white, red? arrghh!! hehehe. I was on the fence with all the colors until I saw Irocker's Iroc... the white really gives the car a clean look, and IMO makes the car look "bigger"... call me crazy but when I see a white car (with a mirror finish) it looks bigger for some reason. Maybe it's because the color stands out and strikes you instead of blending into the background... I dunno maybe it's just me
. My last car ( a Sunbird GT 5 speed) was white and I got lots of compliments on the color.
Anyway...mine is going Artic White. When she's done I will post pics....

Obviously you didn't see the pic of my car! Scroll up a little bit. Do you see the reflection?!
Yea your car is slick, but that can't be unbuffed paint.... (if it is where can i get some, and who did it
)
I was refering more to dents and panel warpage...
when i get my car towed home tomorow (no insurance) i'll grab a pic of my hood, which looked and felt perfect, but with nice shiny paint, looks like it has been asaulted by golf *****.
You guys are making it difficult for me..... I was set on white for my '84, but then i see cars like black_widows..... OH GOD.... i think i'll go buy another camaro...do one of each.

Ions91Z28, i find it hard to believe that it was never wetsanded, i'd have to see it to believe it, did you do it yourself? i've never heard of anyone intentionally not wetsanding after finishing the job..........
but there's a first time for everything i guess.

The paint job is only 6 months old. It was placed in the body shop around may. I called here and there, always them telling me it's almost done. Well, after three weeks and they had told me it would have only been two. I decided to take a trip up there. Well, it hadn't been touched. So I kept bothering them, another week passed, still no work. Was about to pull it out, when I went up there again and it was fully primered and sanded. Within 3-5 days I recieved my car back. They shot it with two or three coats, hit it with two or three coats of clear, and the end of friday they were closing and they were just putting the ground effects back on. They had to stay open longer to finish my car. I asked them did it need to be wetsanded, they said you look and tell me does it need to me. Seeing no orange peel (just painted, so curing hasn't taken place) I said no, can't find any. I found two or three piece of dust/dirt, they said they would take them out for me later down the road when the paint cured. Well about two months later, I found a small crack in the paint. I'm assuming under it since it still hasn't chipped, I took it back up there and they said they'd repaint it for me. I'm waiting until after winter to have it repainted. So.. No. It's never been wetsanded or buffed, and had only been waxed about three weeks ago. Which I have a picture of I'll post it. This car is kept outside 24/7 and is driven daily. No other choice, 18 year old with one car.
i have to say red, because it accents our cars GORGEOUS lines alot better than black, and definetely gets noticed easier
.and its easier to keep clean.black is good if you dont drive the car that much or youre a cleaning nut and clean it every few days,or if its for show.but even then a nice red paint job is just as good.im hoping zaino will help me in the spring after i get it out of storage to get some shine back to the paint.

I agree.
Another thing I like better about red on our cars is that if u get a red IROC-Z u get the other color offsetting the entire car. That means headlight pockets, T-Tops, hood louvers, grill, door handles, IROC-Z rims, some of the taillights, the stripes, and some other stuff.

Bet if there was a "white" option it would be closer :)
A white option would have made a closer vote! hehee
some beautiful black babies on this post, so i will have to add my input too....LOOOVE black far over anything else. and keeping it clean is part of the fun and pride of owning such a beautiful.....for me at lest. heres a pic, washed right before it snowed, so it still looks pretty clean. (hooker cat-back and stainless steel tips added since) plus i love the looks you get when your driving around....heheh

I like the way red cars stand out, but when clean you can't match a black car the way it shines. But it's hard to keep clean. It's a toss up for me.
