Xenons on a thirdgen?

I found this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=599358678
they are for camaros, but has anyone ever used these? Do they look like real xenons, or the cheesy blue lights? I want xenon lights which look like the lights on BMWs and Mercedes'. I hate the gay ***** blue tinted lights... Also, does anyone know if this is even possible on a firebird?

Yeah.....but these are not HID. You need to get the actual Xenon amplifier and that is $425! These lights you are bidding on are not REAL XENON!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in order to make them real Xenon.....you need to puchase the housing here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...&item=599358678

Then you need to purchase the controllers here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...372043&r=0&t=0

Then you will have real XENON's!

I have a pair of Diamond( crystal ) cut 4x6 headlight housings if you want them . They were going to go on my Iroc before it was wrecked , now I cant use them . I would sell for $55 for the pair , I paid $42 a piece new .

I have been thru several different bulbs and the only bulb that looks like the real deal is PIAA's newly released super plasma 55/60 watt bulb . There is no noticeable difference from the BMW's and Audi's and the super plasma. It has a very faint purplish blue tint to the pure white light , just like the HID's . The bulbs are little pricey though @ $85 a pair , but you definately get what you pay for . 100% of the cheapie supposed HID looking or hyperwhite labeled bulbs have been nothing more than fake looking blue bulb that burns out after a couple months . The light cast by the cheaper bulbs imo sucks as well .

90Z28.......not to sound messed up or anything, but $55 is too expensive for just your housings. This guy on ebay is selling them and the bulbs for $43 total.

I will buy the housing from you for $20?

$55 is not too expensive for just the housings. The next set I'm getting will probably run $80 just for the housings because I want aluminum/glass housings, not the cheap plastic crap most of them are made of.

I have the hella conversion housings which were about $65 for the pair with stock h4 bulbs. I then got rid of the stock bulbs and got a pair of piaa super plasma's which were about $75...a little bit expensive but very nice bulbs. $55 isn't a bad price for the housings.

well then Mr. IROC-Z, why don't you share your knowledge and witty techniques to find a better deal........rather than telling everyone they were ripped off!

try sharing your knowledge rather than putting people down, you always get what you pay for.

Don't know if anyone noticed but the bulbs in that kit on ebay are 100/90watt bulbs which if I'm right is illegal and that would blind the hell out of other drivers. The wattage is 60/55 I believe but I've been wrong before so you might want to check your local laws to see if your going to have to buy new bulbs.

MR.IROCZ: How did I get ripped off? I said the next set were probably gonna run about $80. If you can help save me a few dollars on a set of *diamond cut; aluminum/glass* H4 conversion housings, I'd be in your debt.

These housings are $42 a piece at DPstore . They are not the plastic conversion housing that looks like a normal sealed beam headlight . The lenses are glass and are clear with no texture . The texture is in the housing itself , like the headlights on most new cars .

Like Kandied said , you get what you pay for ...been there , done that and wasted too much money on the cheapie stuff .

Bump!!! I found some sets on ebay, are these any good? All these links are out of date. One of my headlights died so I'd rather just replace them with xenon style

Here's links to some other posts about HID. Some good reading, check it out if you are interested. To sum it up I think everyone should be aware of the difference between true HID and the cheaper conversions like H4. The most important thing to know is how much wattage your system can handle. The cheaper conversions usually use more wattage to make the light brighter, and this can cause unwanted heat that can possibly damage the harness connector, the wiring, etc, possibly causing a fire. No Joke.

ahh... lights so that you can see everything on the road but the blinded driver infront of you cant see a thing because of your hi watt light system. I vote for stock lights, or some mod thats not so.... blinding. Sometimes I want to follow those people home and smash out their expensive head lights... but we all know I wouldnt do such a thing.. hehe....
