What's your opinion on this color? Hit or miss? Rare production numbers (less than 400 firebirds made in all trims), 1987 only. I know of one for sale that I have always liked, just curious if i'm the only one or not haha...

Re: Hot or Not... 87 GTA in Dark Russett Metallic (Brown)
Great color, though I'm not sure how much I like it with gold trim and wheels.
I've never liked interior/exterior color combos where they are variations of the same color (here we have a metallic brown with tan; some other examples include maroon exterior with the bright red interior). However, this one seems to work better than most of those. I almost see hints of plum in the color, though it could be your photos.
If the car was in great condition and was a hardtop manual, why not?

This unique color is very refreshing after viewing the "PICS OF YOUR RED OR BLACK THIRD GENS!!!" thread. I really dig it!
Cars like this are where the collectability will be int the future, although that shouldn't be the main reason to pick up a thirdgen.
They are just amazing cars to drive!!! not to mention they got curves for days!!!

Well it's not red, black or white!
As someone who owns both a purple and yellow car, (my third yellow vehicle BTW, if you don't include my first vehicular purchase of a yellow 1975 Schwinn Continental), I'm all for variety.
And I can't argue with Kurt. If it's mint, a hardtop and a stick - well, you can't go wrong.

I am an "outside of the box" kind of person, so YES I like it. As mentioned in another thread, its refreshing to see oddball color cars with uncommon color interiors. Why be normal?

I have always leaned towards the off colors that were produced. She looks beautiful and I would change a thing.

NOT.
It's cool just simply because of the color's scarcity. It's not a good sports car color. When I was a kid, Dad bought a new 1976 Mercury Montego station wagon that was the exact same dark brown. Gross.

I like it. It's not RED, BLUE, OR BLACK.
KMK454.....I think the gold trim and the wheels work nice with that color.
My opinion only though.

With the gold & the tan it looks good - wouldn't have been my first choice when new, but I'd drive the wheels off it now.

Nice rare color,I like it.

Re: Hot or Not... 87 GTA in Dark Russett Metallic (Brown)
I am partial to it myself, my brother had one back in 95-96. 350, Hardtop, Cloth Interior. I liked it because it was different.
I know I have a picture of it somewhere with the Black 83 Trans Am I had at the time, but have not seen it for years...

Not crazy about brown on f-bodies, but since they are rare (also for 2nd gen TAs!), BUY IT.

Man I love that!!!!! ...honestly didn't know that was an option on "newer" thirdgens. Kne
w there were a few odd colors for 82-84. Anyhow, I think it's awesome. Not saying it's my first choice, but I would certainly keep it if the rest of the car was what I wanted.
