Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational - Pikes Peak CO 2015
I just had a friend of mine send me some pics from the OUSCI event from last August. I realize now, that I never posted any of those pics. My phone died in the heat (used as a dash cam) that weekend and didn't get much for pics.
So here they are...
These were taken by Optima Jim McIlvaine...
And just a random shot from the Goodguys CO Nationals Autocross a month or so later. The local newpaper took this shot, and you can see my lil sister screaming from the passenger seat haha
Not just a pretty car

ah, very nice. awesome photos.
Maybe you can answer a question for me since despite emailing the event info people at Optima on their site regarding the rules for the USCA optima ultimate streetcar event.. I have yet to get any reply.
I am all fine with everything in the rules, but just wanted to clarify one thing... for the Novice group in the GTV class, the rules specify a SA2015 helmet... i'm good with that and I will be buying one this month. However, it also says that a SFI hans type neck restraint OR sfi certified collar is mandatory. By SFI collar, I am HOPING they mean those $30 foam doughnut type things. Is this the case? I stopped into a racing equipment supply store with the rulebook and they told me that the foam collar is not sfi approved despite what I have seen listed on jegs, summit, etc about these foam collars. The dude at the store was trying to sell me some $300 device similar to a hans style restraint. I told him I would do my own research and get back to him. Since you competed in the event, could you clarify what type of neck restraint you used? I don't have a roll bar setup or a 5 point harness..... so anything that is hans style just wouldn't work.
I am thinking this would be just fine:
http://www.jegs.com/i/Simpson/856/23...sIoaAsdn8P8HAQ
but I only ask because I don't want to get to the event and be told that it wont pass tech and then have the weekend ruined.
and also, do they not require you to wear a helmet in the autocross, speed stop portions? I guess only in the on-track portion? I see in your last photo you and the passenger aren't wearing helmets.

I run a Gforce collar, but the same style. That will work fine until you get to expert level IIRC
