I just got my car put back together. I had the carb rebuilt, and bumped the timing up A LOT. like 20 degrees advanced. It runs like it should, now. I still have to get that temp sending unit replaced

I'll check that first. That sending unit is in a pretty miserable spot to change without a hoist. I adjusted my TV cable a little bit, too. Everything seems to be working absolutely perfect. I'm sure it didn't run this good when it left the factory with the way the timing was retarded so much. It really woke this thing up! It seriously feels like I gained 100hp lol. Its night and day better! The guy that rebuilt my carb did a great job, too....I didn't have to adjust a single thing.

This was in my brothers 87 GTA about a month ago. His car is a TPI 305 with a 5 speed, and I recorded it from a 20mph roll. I want to race him and see how much difference there really is.....by watching the speedometers climb from 40-70mph, it actually looks pretty similar. I'm sure he will walk all over me, but if he spins out of the hole he'll have to run me down lol. We have an 1/8th mile drag strip VERY CLOSE

Got mine all cleaned up, washed and waxed...new fuel and stabilizer. Just about ready for the long winter ahead. Just waiting on the cover to show up to replace the one that got torn last year.

I've always used dryer sheets and they seem to work ok. This summer I got some sacks that have a strong minty smell and put them under the dash and hood. I constantly put traps and poison out in the shop also. Some old hot Rodders swear by those sacks i bought. Last winter i had a mouse for in my fan motor and it took a week to find. OMG it was tough. Got those sacks at Tractor Supply.

Re: Getting ready for winter storage...
Well, Wednesday when I got home from work I called the insurance agent to suspend the insurance for the winter: predictions of snow (and that scourge "salt") were swirling for Thursday. Besides, even my inherited Hungarian blood was getting to the point of not being able to drive 30minutes without heat.
Today (11/12/2018) the lab was closed in observance/honor of Veterans Day, so I washed the car in 34F weather, cleaned out the garage, and stored "the ride" until next spring.

Re: Getting ready for winter storage...
Just getting good weather down here after months of extreme heat. This was Saturday gorgeous 60 degree weather. Don't have to really put mine away for the winter. Maybe a month or two when it gets good deer hunting I lose interest in it and put it away.
