That's fine and dandy but we're limited to the 12 contestants here of course.

Alright, I kind of figured the Wave Rider award would go unclaimed but you never know what you might learn about people unless you try!
Today's category: The "Hand-Me-Down" award for cars that have been handed down to you from a family relative.

I bought a bone stock convertible and don’t care about power and 1/4 mile times anymore because the cops beat all that out of me.. I’m just happy to cruise around and turn heads these days. I don’t even know how people can drive those 450-800 hp cars around..

Re: 2018 Thirdgen.org Car of the Year
New cars have gotten faster and faster. I can totally see getting in a lot of trouble in a new car because they are so civil and the only way to have fun is bury the throttle.
My old Firebird assaults your senses, constantly reminding you that it's not civil. It's rowdy, it romps, it howls.... and you haven't even stabbed the throttle yet. You can have gobs of fun just driving the car. I have friends that bought new cars and you know what?... turns out it's not much fun being the same as everybody else. What's lacking is they just don't feel cool like they did in their old cars.

Re: 2018 Thirdgen.org Car of the Year
My Firebird makes little under 700 rwhp and with the TH400 3.50 rear end gear etc it is fun to drive but it is smooth and not too brutal The drag radials lower gearing and LS1 ecm makes it safe and predictable. I drive mine all over. It doesn't matter if it is 15 minute trip or an hour or so away rain or shine. I wouldn't hesitate to take it. Even with the 3 speed it isn't bad on gas. The other items which helps is a good torque converter which is tight when cruising and opens up under load.

I agree things like this make it fun. I think it is awesome that we enjoy our cars in different ways and all have different point of views, but love Fbodies. Linson and QwkTrip thank you both for all you do!

Alright, nobody appears to want to compete against 88IROCvertZ for 'The Bandit' award and his nearly 30 tickets while driving a 3rd gen. We have a winner! Perhaps even a COTM record that will stand for a long, long time!

Re: 2018 Thirdgen.org Car of the Year
I was in a tie once in December 2016 I believe.. Linson voted for the other car, but I understood.. The tie was with an impressive build of a Firebird saved from the grave. He was very diplomatic as usual and explained the decision very well.
Is this the voting record?
We have have the lowest mile car vs. the fastest car.. pretty cool..Good luck guys!

Re: 2018 Thirdgen.org Car of the Year
Thank you every one of you that voted for me. So many awesome cars! I am honored to be nominated by @maks10. My car has been evolving and getting better each year. It has been a fun process. Looking back this year it has been fun with my best et, Photo shoot for FSC, September COTM and now COTY. I also want to thank Linson for all he does for COTM and COTY.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: 2018 Thirdgen.org Car of the Year
Where are the details on our COTY winner? I've seen a couple of write ups but still looking for the secret sauce that gets this car into the 9's.
Curious minds want to know.
