Production numbers for this color scheme?

I have a 1985 Firebird 2.8L with the color code 15L 75U Med. Grey Metallic Lower, Blaze Red Upper. I have seen that it is a factory option for the year but I cannot find pictures or any information about it. Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

That photo cant be of a factory painted car. I have never seen a factory 2 tone that goes that high on the car. Unless someone else can correct me on that.

Re: Production numbers for this color scheme?

It is a factory option under D84 for the Firebird which is two-tone.

See attached picture from the 1985 dealer manual. It's not the same color combo but illustrates the two-tone D84 option on the Firebird.

Wow...never would have guessed that. Thanks for confirming JT. The only 2 tone I can think of are the ones that usually have the lower stripe package.

Im back and forth about that paint combo. I cant tell if I like it or dislike it.

Yeah, I thought those were the only 2 tone options as well, before seeing this car. I honestly didn't like it at first but it grew on me alot.

Re: Production numbers for this color scheme?

Honestly, first glane I really disliked it. Thought it was a weird paintjob and someone went way to high with the two tone. Then I had mixed feelings, but every time I check the comments on this thread and look at it I do like it more and more. Still not in love with it and I do think it would look better in the more common 2 tone, but I do like it much more than I did.

Honestly don't know too much about it. I've had it for a little over a year now and I am the third owner. The original owner had it for over 31 years brand new out of the dealership with 50 miles on it. I have original dealership papers about what the car came with but nothing about paint or anything like that.

Re: Production numbers for this color scheme?

Funny, I saw this thread and thought that it's common enough to not really be uncommon, but where would a person even go looking for a production number on something like that. Didn't figure it was worth replying without a concrete answer.

So uh, yeah, reasonably common on 85/86 Firebirds, can't remember seeing too many outside of those years. Kinda flies under the radar since it's not a T/A option.
