Bob, thanks for nominating my teal car! Yeah, that one won last year. I would like to nominate my 91 1LE Z28 with 6k miles that was never nominated before, though i'm totally outgunned with the absolutely amazing cars already posted above. But, i'll give it a shot

Gorgeous car! It’s in IMMACULATE condition. Mine has less milage but is showing rust on the rear end and exhaust manifolds.

Thanks Mike! Your car is absolutely amazing and I have looked over the pics of it online when it was for sale in detail, its incredible!
Yeah the previous owner of mine spent lots and lots of time under the car wiping it down with WD-40 over the years. Tough to keep up with lol. The exhaust manifolds do have a little calyx on them for show purposes.

I'm glad someone took the time to preserve, solely because there's a restoration reference. I couldn't and wouldn't want to let a car like that sit without being driven, and I couldn't see myself taking the time to preserve a car like that.
Only trouble with the manifold treatment is they're too silvery. From the factory the manifolds are coated in a cast iron gray coating that burns off rather quickly. Most people will never know the difference. Some folks go as far as to smear anti-seize all over their manifolds to give them a fresh look for the car show. At least until the anti-seize smokes and burns off.

Thanks! I do drive it a few hundred miles a year, though I do not have a temperature controlled garage so i'm regularly checking on them underneath and wiping them down. It's not perfect, but it's still pretty darn good. You are right with the Calyx in terms of the color, it's slightly too bright. I think it looks better than the inevitable rust underneath though lol. I usually have to reapply once a year. One of these days I plan to pull the manifolds off and blast them.

You might consider sending them out to be ceramic coated. Should be able to match the factory color and get a more durable coating. A lot of the factory GM coats were just enough to keep rust from forming between the manufacturing facility and the assembly line. Lots of black oxide or phosphate coatings that looked good until the car got driven much. Either way, the car looks great!

OK - I gotta say, we can all bow to the master of 3rd gens - ev305tpi -
that car is another one of his insanely clean ultra low mile examples - all I can sat is WOW!
No need to compete this month - ev305tpi 1LE gets my vote - we can move on now to the next month
and a different category
Re: April 2020 COTM **Self-Nomination Thread** - 20K miles or less
Just want to say you guys & gals did a great job with the nominations this month. 4 of 5 people have never even been in a COTM competition before, and all 5 are new cars to us. That's the way a COTM should be run!
