Looks like every other cookie cutter suv on the road except for a hood decal.

 

Honestly, that's the coolest Aztek I've ever seen.

My wife loved the Aztec, I hated it. This however, I would drive 😎

 

If that were RWD and LS powered I would drive it.

 

Aztec was too far ahead of its time.

I wanna hate it, but its the best looking Asstek I've ever seen.

And I still hate the way they look. The all black helps hide some of the hideous body lines.

Look at those headlights too long and you'll go cross eyed .
Its just sacrilegious to the ol Trans Ams. Thats like guys putting Camaro Iroc wheels on a firebird, Or a firebird hood graphic on a Camaro uggg .

I agree with him , to the point that the trans am bird don't belong on the hood anymore than a set of fuzzy dice would belong on the rearview mirror , but as today's cars go it ain't any uglier than any of the others ....

 

Well, that's the thing! We have been so conditioned to accept ugly cars, that a lowered Aztek on cool wheels, suddenly looks good! LOL!

 

Real question is the back. Thats where it really got fugly.

 

Lose the bird on the hood, and make the headlights one solid structure instead of having that Clark W Griswald look on his family truckster, and its honestly not that bad. I actually like the way it looks the more I keep looking at it. Rims look pretty damn sweet on that thing...

Hated the Aztek's tail (this pic above pretty well hides the worst view of the Aztek), but I never thought the front end was so bad. It looks aggressive and definitely stood out.

The thing that bugged me most was the disparity in media reaction. Nissan Cube, perhaps the single ugliest vehicle ever produced? Almost never heard a word of criticism and it certainly didn't get the attacks heaped on the Aztek. To the press, it was cute and funky. Honda Element, with it's ugly styling and awkward mix of plastic and sheetmetal? The media praised it for how useful it was and Honda was just taking chances and being different and adventurous. With Pontiac, the reaction was "Worst vehicle ever ever ever!!!!"

 

I think the biggest reason it doesn't work , at least for me , is that the whole SUV concept (born of the unholy union of a car and a minivan) always seemed more Mom's grocery getter than badass street machine .

That phone ringing sound in the background is the Firebird calling , , , It wants it's hood decal back ....

 

There are some really hideous cars out there right now trying to have the same appeal as the Aztek once tried to.... The most hideous would be the CH-R from the Japanese TOYlet company, what a pure abor…… Little filler panels all over bc they couldn't get the production panels correct to begin with, but this AZTEK is a great example of how much stance and a good wheel/tire combo is worth. I'd pass on the hood bird though.

 

...I'm not seeing anything thirdgen related here. 2nd gen bird decal on the hood, 2nd gen-esque wheels and it's a Pontiac Aztek!. As soon as I saw this absolute thrown up dinner of a creation back when it came out, I knew Pontiac was finished.

I like it myself... Never understood all the hate for the Aztec. I liked them when they first came out.

 

Someone needs to be drug out in a street and shot for creating that abortion.

 

I hated the look of a stock Aztec, but honestly, this isn't bad, I think the fender flairs give it a bit of an aggressive stance. With the right tires, suspension, some tasteful engine mods... and knowing that people that had them loved them (my neighbor had one and refused to get rid of it long past when he normally would have), I'm betting it would be kind of fun. It kind of looks like an overblown rally car, and I think they came with AWD, maybe add a turbo or an Eaton blower to the stock engine...

 

People be like "It doesn't look that bad, I kinda like it" as though they've never seen fat girl dating profile photos. It's still not good looking, it's all in the make-up and angles. Disguise the ugly by messing with perspective, baffling the audience with bullshit (2nd gen T/A accents), and burying it all under glossy paint.

Just add the second pic and the illusion starts to fall apart as your perception starts to piece together what your eyes are seeing.

Watch all 11 minutes and you'll notice a lot of what Mr Digital Chip Foose is doing, the renderer of the Transexual Asstech accomplished by making the car black, and adding wheel flares, while the vantage point further hides the messed up lines with funny perspectives.

Bottom line? It's still ugly, you're just blinded by the big **** and great big *** paired with a smile. You've been deceived.

I'm still waiting for someone to point out one ounce of relativity to third gens. I'm seeing none. This is the same as posting a Corvette and talking about it. No difference at all. Nope!

 

Just thought id post it for the fact that its got a trans am firebird on the hood of a non firebird = insulting to all gen firebirds .

 

That Kindig fool must of had something to do with it !!!!

 

Am I the only one who thinks Dave Kindig and Groot look way too much like each other ?
