I was at the pull your part scrapyard seeing what I could find and I ended up taking some pics of a 92 RS. She was already picked clean from the inside. I thought it would be interesting to post pics of the cars found before they were gone forever so I’ll start.







It is very sad to see but I do find it fascinating at the same time. Feel free to post your findings.

 

I search for this on YouTube all the time. I'm with you....it's sad, but for whatever reason I am fascinated by them, too

 

Definitely not a real Iroc.

 

The last one has some pretty nice looking couple of wheels on it. The first pic though, is that fiberglass all over it?

 

it was a fiberglass hood. Looked like one of the early third gen factory fiberglass hoods

I almost bought the wheels but I left them. I really had no use for them but I hope they didn’t get crushed.

Looks like those wheels on the Firebird look salvageable.

 

Yep but there were only 3. If there were 4 I might would have bought them just for sake of saving them but I have no use.

 

My 91 RS parts car is heading for the junkyard this week. The nose and gfx are all good (moldy, but good). I just haven't had the time to get them off. The rollback is coming to get it in a day or two

 

Dagwood, I need that chin spoiler! You’re a million miles away and shipping may be unrealistic, but I need it. Is it original GM? Any rips, cracks? What’s your zip? I’ll look into shipping if you’d consider it. Guess I should ask what you’d want for it.

 

I think the chin spoiler has a 1" crack on the front bottom edge towards the pass side. I don't want to mess with it, and I gave the car to a buddy that has a salvage yard. PM me if you want his phone number.

The car doesn't have a steering column in it so I don't want to screw around trying to get in in my brothers shop to get to the hoist....otherwise I would have had all of the ground effects off it already

 

one of the things I would hoard if I was playing the long game is all the glass you can store, thats the thing that reallllly gets hard to find 40 yrs from now

 

About that steering column....don’t have it laying around do ya? Lol

Yeah, I believe you mentioned the crack when first posting about the car and that’s why I never asked about it. No worries, thanks anyway.
